Carbon-Enhanced Metal-Poor Stars. III. Main-Sequence Turn-Off Stars from the SDSS/SEGUE Sample
The chemical compositions of seven Carbon-Enhanced Metal-Poor (CEMP) turn-off stars are determined from high-resolution spectroscopy. Five of them are selected from the SDSS/SEGUE sample of metal-poor stars.

The relationship between anabolic and catabolic processes governing lung cancer cell growth is nuanced. We show that ATG4B, an autophagy regulator, is elevated in lung cancer and that high ATG4B is associated with worse patient outcomes. Targeting ATG4B in cells reduces growth, protein synthesis, and mTORC1 activity, demonstrating a new relationship ...

A Study of Emission Lines in Carbon Stars
Carbon stars are chemically peculiar stars with high carbon abundance, showing strong carbon molecule bands and rare emission lines in their spectra. This paper explores the stellar activity of carbon stars by identifying emission line features in their ...

The Carbon content in the Galactic CygnusX/DR21 star forming region
Observations of Carbon bearing species are among the most important diagnostic probes of ongoing star formation. CO is a surrogate for H$_2$ and is found in the vicinity of star formation sites.

Discovery of an [Fe/H] ∼ −4.8 Star in Gaia XP Spectra
We report on the discovery of GDR3_526285 (Gaia DR3 Source ID 5262850721755411072), a star with [Fe/H] = −4.82 ± 0.25 and one of the lowest metal (atomic number > 2) mass fractions ever found ( Z _GDR3 _ _526585 ≲ 1.0 × 10 ^−6 ).

Evolution of low-mass metal-free stars including effects of diffusion and external pollution
We investigate the evolution of low-mass metal-free Population III stars. Emphasis is laid upon the question of internal and external sources for CNO-elements, which - if present in sufficient amounts in the hydrogen-burning regions - lead to a strong ...

KHS‐Cnd peptide is able to impair biofilm formation and disaggregate mature biofilms in Acinetobacter baumannii clinical isolates. Differences in extracellular metabolites reflect changes in biofilm metabolism due to KHS‐Cnd treatment. Among the differentially represented extracellular metabolites upon KHS‐Cnd treatment, the significantly altered ...

Exosome Proteomics of SOD1D90A Mutation Suggest Early Disease Mechanisms, and FN1 as a Biomarker
ABSTRACT Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a neuromuscular disease. Super oxide dismutase 1 (SOD1) gene mutations cause ALS, and the D90A mutation is associated with primarily upper motor neuron (UMN) loss. Objective Our goal is to reveal the early cellular events in ALS pathology and identify potential pharmacokinetic biomarkers, using well ...

MODEL ATMOSPHERES OF PECULAR CARBON GIANTS
We calculated 240 model atmospheres of carbon giants of high carbon abundances (2800 ≤ Teff ≤ 3400 K, 0.06 ≤ log(C/O) ≤ 2.7). The set of models was calculated in process of analysis by spectral synthesis of spectral energy distribution of the evolved ...
