Microforming of a low carbon steel.
2009In recent years the use of micro products has been strongly increased. Microforming can be considered the most suitable technology to manufacture very small metallic parts for mass production. Performances are strongly coupled with material properties, determining forming forces, interface pressures and tooling life. However research activities on this

Investigation of zinc as a scale and corrosion inhibitor of carbon steel in artificial seawater
Corrosion Science, 2019In this paper, the inhibition mechanism of Zn2+ in trace concentration on both the CaCO3 precipitation and corrosion of carbon steel in artificial seawater was investigated using various electrochemical and surface analysis methods.

Microstructures and properties of roll-bonded stainless /medium carbon steel clad plates
Journal of Materials Processing Technology, 2019A 304 stainless steel/medium carbon steel clad plate was fabricated by hot-rolling in an argon atmosphere. The interfacial microstructures of the clad plates were observed by SEM, and the carbide phases were identified by XRD and TEM.

Fusion of Low Carbon Steel Scrap in the Middle Carbon Steel Melt
Kovine zlitine tehnologije, 1996A quasi three-dimensional mathematical model of fusion of cylindrical steel scrap in converter melt was developed. The model was solved using the implicit altermating direction method. The obtained algorithm was programmed in ASCII FORTRAN for the computer SPERRY 1100/72.

Although the carburizing of steel has been in wide application for a long time, there are some disagreements in the explanation of fundamental rules of diffusion process in this field. Even now the view-point that the concentration gradient is the driving force for diffusion of carbon in steels can be found in literature.

The data show a wide range in relaxation strengths. Study of the data shows that the following factors are involved: 1. The major cause for the wide range in relaxation strengths at 850 F appears to be molybdenum content, as is shown by the figures on page 20.
