Bioorthogonal Photoactivation of 2‐Nitrobenzyl Caged Doxorubicin Anticancer Prodrugs on Gold Nanostars

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Bioorthogonal chemistry was applied to intracellularly photoactivate Doxorubicin (Dox) using gold nanostars (AuNSt) and near‐infrared (NIR) light. Two prodrugs were used: one photoactivatable, masked with 2‐nitrobenzyl carbamate (proDox1) and another photolabile, masked with 2‐nitrobenzyl diol (proDox2), which was attached to the AuNSt surface.

Differential responses of green-synthesized iron nano-complexes in mitigating bicarbonate stress in almond trees

open access: yesHeliyon
High bicarbonate concentration in the soil induces iron (Fe) deficiency in fruit trees. According to the promising performance of nanomaterials in supplying mineral nutrients, in this study the potential of 4 green synthesized Fe nano-complexes (Fe–NCs ...

SOFT SENSOR FOR BETTER CONTROL OF CARBON DIOXIDE REMOVAL PROCESS IN ETHYLENE GLYCOL PLANT [PDF]

open access: yesChemical Industry and Chemical Engineering Quarterly, 2011
Low carbon dioxide in cycle gas loop of ethylene glycol (EG) plant improves catalyst selectivity and overall economics of the plant. Carbon dioxide produced as a byproduct in ethylene oxide reactor is removed by the Benfield process. In this process, the

Preferential weld corrosion of X65 pipeline steel in flowing brines containing carbon dioxide [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The aim of this research was to investigate the cause of the severe localised corrosion that sometimes occurs at welds in carbon steel pipelines carrying hydrocarbons and inhibited brines saturated with carbon dioxide.

Thermally Modulated Metasurface Sensor for Dynamic and Time‐Resolved Isolation of Extracellular Vesicles

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A thermally adaptive plasmonic metasurface, functionalized with poly(N‐isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM) and anti‐CD63 antibodies, enables precise, on‐demand capture and release of extracellular vesicles (EVs). Delivering high recovery, improved purity, and intact vesicle structure, the platform offers a versatile, label‐free solution for real‐time EV ...

Fluid phase equilibria of the reacting mixture in the dimethyl carbonate synthesis from supercritical CO2 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
In order to investigate the dimethyl carbonate synthesis from methanol and supercritical CO2, the thermodynamic behaviour of the reacting mixture, i.e. the quaternary methanol/CO2/DMC/water mixture, has to be known.

Sodium Bicarbonate and Time-to-Exhaustion Cycling Performance: A Retrospective Analysis Exploring the Mediating Role of Expectation. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
Research has shown that ingesting 0.3 g·kg body mass sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO ) can improve time-to-exhaustion (TTE) cycling performance, but the influence of psychophysiological mechanisms on ergogenic effects is not yet understood.

From Behavior to Dynamics: Decoding Carrier Roles in Cu‐based Photocathodes for Solar‐Driven CO2 Reduction

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The performance of Cu‐based photocathodes in photoelectrochemical CO2 reduction is not governed by catalytic sites alone, but by the dynamic journey of photogenerated carriers. This review decodes how carrier generation, recombination, transport, accumulation, extraction, and electrolyte coupling shape catalytic activity, selectivity, and stability ...

Impact of nitrogenous fertilizers on carbonate dissolution in small agricultural catchments: Implications for weathering CO2 uptake at regional and global scales [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The goal of this study was to highlight the occurrence of an additional proton-promoted weathering pathway of carbonate rocks in agricultural areas where N-fertilizers are extensively spread, and to estimate its consequences on riverine alkalinity and ...
