Acetoacetates Derived From Vegetable Oils: A Platform for Tailor‐Made Vinylogous Urethane Foams

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A renewable vegetable oil is converted into acetoacetate‐functionalized precursors for the preparation of catalyst‐free vinylogous urethane foams. Room‐temperature foaming with n‐pentane generates lightweight cellular materials, while the choice of amine enables control over foam structure and mechanical properties.

Ultrathin Amphipathic Dual‐Polymer Networks: Unlocking Hyper‐Permeable CO2 Capture via Solvent‐Mediated Poly(Ethylene Oxide) Amorphization

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Hydrophilic PEO‐copolymers and hydrophobic PDMS are physically integrated via a compatibilizing solvent into an amphipathic dual‐polymer network with versatile interfacial affinity and completely amorphized PEO segments for hyper‐permeable CO2 transport.

Dimensionality‐Driven Interfacial Electronic Coupling in Carbon‐Supported Gd‐CuO Catalysts for Selective CO2 Electroreduction to Ethylene

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The 2D carbon‐supported Gd–CuO exhibits strong interfacial electronic coupling, abundant oxygen vacancies, and highly exposed active sites, enabling efficient CO enrichment and C─C coupling toward selective and durable CO2‐to‐C2H4 conversion. ABSTRACT Copper‐based catalysts are promising for electrochemical CO2 reduction toward value‐added chemicals ...

Photo‐Switchable Molecular Module Programming PET Biodegradation in Aquatic Environments

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We address the plastic durability paradox by integrating an itaconic acid–derived pyrrolidone module into polymer backbones. Sunlight in water triggers Norrish Type I ring‐opening and hydrophilization, enabling rapid biodegradation into nontoxic minerals.

Photo‐Degradable Polyester Networks and Multi‐Photon Printed Objects Based on Cyclic Ketene Acetals

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The current work introduces a photoreversible polyester network derived from radical ring‐opening polymerization of cyclic ketene acetals. It combines photoreversible cross‐linking with initiator‐free multi‐photon printing. Reversible network formation, tunable mechanical properties, and selective degradation highlight its potential as a versatile ...
