Carbon and oxygen stable isotope record of upper Kimmeridgian shallow-marine ramp carbonates (Iberian Basin, NE Spain): the imprint of different burial and tectonic histories

open access: yesGeologica Acta, 2021
Bulk carbon and oxygen stable isotopes of ancient shallow-marine carbonates can record the effects of multiple palaeoenvironmental factors, but also the imprint of several post-depositional processes, which may alter the original marine isotopic ...

Bias‐Free Highly Efficient and Stable Dye‐Sensitized Photoelectrochemical Cells via Cascade Charge Transfer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A buried‐junction DSPEC design is introduced that leverages cascade charge transfer to enhance efficiency, stability, and versatility. This approach facilitates effective charge transfer and minimizes recombination losses, leading to significant improvements.

MnI‐Functionalized Covalent Organic Framework as Efficient Electrocatalyst for CO2 Reduction in a Catholyte‐Free Zero‐Gap Electrolyzer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates the successful integration of a phenanthroline‐based 2D COF with MnI catalytic sites into a catholyte‐free membrane‐electrode‐assembly cell for CO2 electroreduction. The crystalline COF actively suppresses Mn⁰–Mn⁰ dimerization, achieving a turnover frequency of 617 h⁻¹ at 2.8 V (full‐cell potential), and enabling stable operation.

A Large Cenomanian Carbonate Ramp at the Transition Between Two Domains of the Zagros Sedimentary Basin, SW Iran: Cyclic Evolution and Its Eustatic and Tectonic Controls

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering
Carbonate sedimentation was spread widely on the southern margin of the Neo-Tethys Ocean in the mid-Cretaceous. New information from four exploration wells sheds light on the peculiarities of the Sarvak Formation (late Albian–Cenomanian) at the narrow ...

Early Eocene evolution of carbonate depositional environments recorded in the Čikola Canyon (North Dalmatian Foreland Basin, Croatia)

open access: yesGeologia Croatica, 2017
The stratigraphic succession in the Čikola Canyon (part of the North Dalmatian Foreland Basin) was studied in detail to describe both the sedimentological characteristics and fossil assemblages of the Lower Eocene deposits during the initial stage of ...

Effect of ramp bicycle exercise on exhaled carbon monoxide in humans

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiological Sciences, 2011
The effect of exercise on the increase of exhaled CO in smokers compared to non-smokers has not been clarified yet. In this study we compared the dynamics of exhaled CO before, during and after exercise between smokers and non-smokers. A group of 8 smokers and a group of 8 non-smokers underwent a bicycle exercise in a ramp fashion to near maximum ...

Modulating Two‐Photon Absorption in a Pyrene‐Based MOF Series: An In‐Depth Investigation of Structure–Property Relationships

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates H4TBAPy‐based metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) ‐ NU‐1000, NU‐901, SrTBAPy, and BaTBAPy ‐ for multiphoton absorption (MPA) performance. It observes topology‐dependent variations in the 2PA cross‐section, with BaTBAPy exhibiting the highest activity.
