Oxygen Supply of Islets of Langerhans by Photosynthetically Active Microalgae in Bioprinted Co‐Cultures Maintains Their Function in a Hypoxic Environment

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study developed a bioprinted co‐culture system embedding rat pancreatic islets and Scenedesmus sp. microalgae spatially defined in close vicinity. Red light was found optimal to ensure microalgal photosynthesis while maintaining islet viability and functionality. A tailored co‐culture medium supported both cell types.

A Solidified Controllable Resin System Suitable for Fracture Cavity Formation Plugging and Its Performance Characterization

open access: yesGels
Thermosetting resins have good temperature resistance and high strength and have been widely used as plugging agents in oil fields. However, the current resin materials have high costs, and unmodified thermosetting resins are brittle or have deteriorated

Origin of structurally controlled hydrothermal dolomite in epigenetic karst system during shallow burial: An example from Middle Permian Maokou Formation, central Sichuan Basin, SW China

open access: yesPetroleum Exploration and Development, 2016
Based on the outcrops, drilling cores, thin sections observation and geochemical analysis, studies were done on the genesis of dolomite in the Middle Permian of central Sichuan Basin. Mosaic fine-crystalline dolomite and subhedral-euhedral siliceous fine-

Methodological approaches to determining the marine radiocarbon reservoir effect [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The marine radiocarbon reservoir effect is an offset in 14C age between contemporaneous organisms from the terrestrial environment and organisms that derive their carbon from the marine environment.

A Physiological Microfluidic Blood–Brain‐Barrier Model for In Vitro Study of Nanoparticle Trafficking and Accumulation

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A human microfluidic blood‐brain barrier (mBBB) model enables spatially resolved comparison of nanoparticle trafficking. Extracellular vesicles (EVs), liposomes, and nanoplastics exhibit distinct transport and disruption behaviors, revealing that membrane composition and uptake pathways govern BBB interaction.

Tectono-sedimentary evolution and oil-gas geological significance of first to third member of Ordovician Majiagou Formation in Ordos Basin, NW China

open access: yesPetroleum Exploration and Development
Based on logging, core, thin section and geochemical analysis, the tectonic-lithofacies paleogeographic pattern of first member to third member of Ordovician Majiagou Formation (O1m1–O1m3 for short) in Ordos Basin is reconstructed, and the tectono ...

A Data Driven Review of In Vitro Electrical and Mechanical Stimulation for Post‐Acute Phase Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This review examines how in vitro electrical and mechanical stimulation modulates wound healing in fibroblasts and keratinocytes. Analyzing over 560 experimental data points, we relate stimulation parameters to proliferation and migration outcomes, evaluate platform designs, and highlight the need for multi‐parameter optimization to advance targeted ...
