3D Carbonate Digital Rock Reconstruction Using Progressive Growing GAN
Journal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, 2021The development of digital rock physics relies on the availability of high‐quality 3D digital rock images, which can be directly obtained with X‐ray micro‐Computed Tomography (μCT).

Hydrogeology of carbonate rocks
1999Carbonate rocks are sedimentary type of rocks containing more than 50% carbonate minerals which are mainly calcite, CaCO3, and dolomite, CaMg(CO3)2. The carbonate minerals could be a result of chemical precipitation, organic processes or may occur as detrital material.

Automatic Carbonate Rock Facies Identification with Deep Learning
, 2020Linking depositional properties and post-depositional diagenetic modifications of a rock with its petrophysical attributes remains a greatest challenge for carbonate rock characterization, formation evaluation and petrophysical rock typing.

Seismic velocities in carbonate rocks
International Journal of Rock Mechanics and Mining Sciences & Geomechanics Abstracts, 1991Abstract Seismic velocities were measured in the laboratory vs pressure, temperature, and saturation on over 80 cores from various carbonate reservoirs in Alberta, using an ultrasonic pulse transmission method. Porosity, permeability, electrical properties, and capillary pressure were also measured in order to ...

Sequence stratigraphy of carbonate rocks
The Leading Edge, 1999In the first contribution to TLE’s Geologic Column, J. M. Mulholland concluded that “sequence stratigraphy … is a tool that every explorationist must master.” I agree. In fact, sequence stratigraphy is more than a versatile tool in exploration and production geology. It is in many ways a role model for applied earth sciences.

Abstract This core workshop is the product of an effort by the SEPM Carbonate Research Group to emphasize the value of careful core interpretation to hydrocarbon exploration and production programs. Initially conceived as a small conference the format was expanded in response to strong interest from the geologic community. The end result

Stochastic multiscale model for carbonate rocks
Physical Review E, 2007A multiscale model for the diagenesis of carbonate rocks is proposed. It captures important pore scale characteristics of carbonate rocks: wide range of length scales in the pore diameters; large variability in the permeability; and strong dependence of the geometrical and transport parameters on the resolution.
