Carbon resistance of corundum concretes

Refractories, 1988
The resistance of the corundum concretes to carbon during direct interaction under the conditions of high temperature isothermal holding is quite high. After holding for a period of 120 h at 1580°C, the weight loss of the concrete specimens is insignificant (0.2–0.4%) without exception.

Contact resistance of carbon nanotubes

Applied Physics Letters, 1999
Electrical contacts to carbon nanotubes typically exhibit high resistance, posing a serious obstacle to their application in electronic devices. One important factor may be their unique electronic structure, which gives weak electronic coupling at the Fermi surface. This suggests some possible ways to reduce contact resistance.

Electrical Resistivity of Carbonized Coals

Energy & Fuels, 1994
The aim of the study was (i) to determine the relationship between the end temperature of carbonization (ETC) and electrical resistivity of the carbonized coals and (ii) to find a minimal ETC which is satisfactory with regard to yielding low-resistivity (< 0.25 ohm/cm) coke rods that could be used for fullerene preparation. Twenty-seven coals, 82-92% C

The Stability of Carbon Resistance Thermometers

Review of Scientific Instruments, 1971
The drift in resistance at a fixed temperature of a variety of carbon composition resistance thermometers has been measured in the temperature range 0.03–6 K. It is found that the drift in terms of an apparent ΔT/T is smaller for resistors having a smaller temperature sensitivity, and that these thermometers therefore have a better reproducibility in ...

Relaxation resistance of carbon steel

Metal Science and Heat Treatment, 1972
1. The relaxation resistance of carbon steel wire varies with the original structure (the heating temperature and the transformation of austenite during patenting) and with the degree of deformation in drawing. 2. The relaxation resistance of cold drawn wire increases with the temperature at which austenite is transformed, with ...

Resistivity in Carbonates: New Insights

Proceedings of SPE Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition, 2002
Abstract A detailed explanation of the non-Archie behavior of the resistivity index vs Sw curves in carbonates is proposed. The model is based on resistivity index (RI) curves measured at ambient and reservoir conditions, on double or triple porosity micritic and oolitic carbonates.

Optimization of the Thermal Shock Resistance of Carbon-Carbon Composites

1975
A three-dimensional rule of mixtures model was developed to calculate the room-temperature thermal and mechanical properties of carbon-carbon composites whose constituents have anisotropic properties. The model was used, along with the properties of different carbon fibers and pyrocarbon matrices, to determine the fiber-matrix combination, constituent ...
