Harnessing Native Al/Si Impurities in Bamboo Black Liquor for Self‐Templated Closed‐Pore Hard Carbon Anodes

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
A scalable strategy utilizing native impurities in bamboo lignin black liquor is proposed to construct a closed‐pore, rich hard carbon. Controlled impurity removal and high‐temperature reconstruction enable the conversion of open pores into abundant closed pores, thereby promoting sodium cluster storage.

Boosting Sodium Storage Activity and Kinetics of Hard Carbon by Remodeling Oxygen Chemistry

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
A surface oxygen remodeling strategy is proposed to finely furnish the pseudographitic structure of hard carbon with rich closed pores and expanded interlayer spacings. Accordingly, the sodiation reactivity and kinetics are greatly reinforced to afford an elevated capacity of 360 mAh g−1 and outstanding rate capability of 225 mAh g−1 at 2 A g−1 ...

Ternary Crosslinking Builds Nanosheet Hard Carbon and Interfacial Polarization Regulates Na⁺ Kinetics in Hard Carbon Anodes

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
Nanosheet Hard Carbon for Fast Na+ Storage ABSTRACT Hard‐carbon anodes for sodium‐ion batteries are often constrained by low initial Coulombic efficiency, severe interfacial polarization, and sluggish Na⁺ kinetics, especially when porosity engineering amplifies electrolyte consumption.
