Kinetic study of the oxide-assisted catalyst-free synthesis of silicon nitride nanowires

open access: yes, 2006
The synthesis of Si3N4 nanowires from the reaction of silicon nanoparticles with N2 in the 1200-1440 C temperature range is reported. The nitridation conditions are such that the reaction with nitrogen is favoured by the presence of silicon oxide in the ...

Roasting of sulphide using carbothermal reduction

open access: yes, 2016
The carbothermic reduction process is a direct reduction of sulfides. It allows a roasting in which higher concentrations of metals such as molybdenum are obtained by using both a reducing agent (in this case, carbon C) and a sulfur scavenger, such as CaO so as to prevent air toxic gases pollution such as SO2.

Effect of high temperature VPT conditions on the development of aligned ZnO nanorod arrays grown by a three step catalyst-free method [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Using Transmission Electron Microscopy-related techniques, we study the effect of the high temperature in the Vapour Phase Transport (VPT) process on the morphology and chemistry of VPT ZnO nanorod arrays deposited on a two-step Chemical Bath Deposition (

Mass balance at partial run of quartzite carbothermal reduction

open access: yesMetalurgija, 2016
Mass balance for the process of incomplete carbothermal reduction of SiO2 to SiC thermogravimetric studies was presented. Tests were performed for the molar ratio of C/SiO2 = 3 at a temperature of 1 500 °C under an argon flow in the range from 0,1 to 3,4
