Complete mitogenome of the Graceful Shark Carcharhinus amblyrhynchoides (Carcharhiniformes: Carcharhinidae)

Mitochondrial DNA Part A, 2014
In this manuscript we describe the first complete mitochondrial sequence for the Near Threatened Graceful Shark Carcharhinus amblyrhynchoides. It is 16,705 bp in length, consists of two rRNA genes, 22 tRNA genes, 13 protein-coding genes and one control region with the typical gene arrangement pattern and translate orientation in vertebrates.

Mitochondrial genome of the bull sharkCarcharhinus leucas(Carcharhiniformes: Carcharhinidae)

Mitochondrial DNA, 2014
The bull shark Carcharhinus leucas is a large elasmobranch species widespread in tropical and warm oceans, rivers and lakes. We first determine the complete mitogenome of C. leucas in this article. It is 16,704 bp in length, consists 37 genes and one control region with the typical gene order in vertebrates. The ND6 gene used the rare AGG as stop codon.

Aspects of the biology of carcharhiniform sharks in Indonesian waters

Journal of the Marine Biological Association of the United Kingdom, 2007
A total of 13 species of carcharhiniform sharks (excluding the families Carcharhinidae and Sphyrnidae) belonging to four families was recorded in fish landing site surveys in eastern Indonesia. Of these, the Triakidae were most abundant in the landings with Hemitriakis sp. 1 and Mustelus cf.

Genetic identification of lamniform and carcharhiniform sharks using multiplex-PCR

Conservation Genetics Resources, 2009
Nowadays, because of the constant increase in the capture and trade of sharks all over the world and reports of several species already showing important signs of over-exploitation, the establishment of registration mechanisms, evaluation and fishery control become urgent. Morphological identification of captured sharks is very difficult, and sometimes

A new genus of Phyllobothriidae (Cestoda: Tetraphyllidea) in carcharhiniform sharks from Iran and Australia

Journal of Helminthology, 2010
AbstractThe collection of cestodes from the carcharhiniform shark Carcharhinus cf. dussumieri in the Persian Gulf off Iran resulted in the discovery of the new genus and species of tetraphyllidean tapeworm, Doliobothrium haselii n. gen. n. sp. Collections from the carcharhiniform shark Rhizoprionodon acutus in the Timor Sea off northern Australia ...

Complete mitochondrial genome of the hardnose shark Carcharhinus macloti (Carcharhiniformes: Carcharhinidae)

Mitochondrial DNA Part A, 2014
The complete mitochondrial genome of Carcharhinus macloti was determined in this study. It is 16,701 bp in length and contains 37 genes with the typical gene order and transcriptional orientation in vertebrates. A total of 29 bp overlaps and 29 bp short intergenic spaces located in 22 gene junctions. The overall base composition is 31.6% A, 26.2% C, 13.

Mitochondrial genome of the spot-tail sharkCarcharhinus sorrah(Carcharhiniformes: Carcharhinidae)

Mitochondrial DNA, 2014
In this article, we first presented the complete mitogenome of the spot-tail shark Carcharhinus sorrah, which is a medium-sized shark distributed in the tropical Indo-Pacific and is currently listed as "Near Threatened" on the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List. The complete mitogenome of C. sorrah is 16,707 bp in length and

Comparative anatomy of the clasper of catsharks and its phylogenetic implications (Chondrichthyes: Carcharhiniformes: Scyliorhinidae)

Journal of Morphology, 2020
AbstractThe presence of claspers is one of the main characteristics of the cartilaginous fishes, but its variations across taxa have received limited use in shark systematics and have generally been neglected in descriptions of species. Clasper descriptions are available only for a few catshark species and most of these are focused only in external ...
