AMPK‐Dependent Epigenetic Regulation of Metabolism Mediates the Anti‐Cancer Action of Pterostilbene in Hepatocellular Carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Nutrition &Food Research, Volume 69, Issue 23, December 2025.
This study investigates the anti‐cancer effects of pterostilbene (PTS), a naturally occurring dietary phytoestrogen, in a rat model of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) induced by a choline‐deficient L‐amino acid‐defined (CDAA) diet. Supplementation with PTS significantly reduces liver steatosis and tumor formation.

Primary Pulmonary Perivascular Epithelioid Cell Tumour (PEComa): A Case Report

open access: yesRespirology Case Reports, Volume 13, Issue 12, December 2025.
This case presents an extremely rare disease, primary pulmonary PEComa. We provide an overview of the clinicopathological features of PEComa to enhance clinicians' awareness. ABSTRACT Perivascular epithelioid cell tumour (PEComa) is a rare mesenchymal neoplasm; lung is an exceptional primary site.

Cell‐Free DNA Methylation‐Based Liquid Biopsy Assay to Identify Lymph Node Metastasis in T1 Gastric Cancer

open access: yesUnited European Gastroenterology Journal, Volume 13, Issue 10, Page 2023-2033, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Background Most T1 gastric cancer (GC) harbor lymph node metastasis (LNM) at a rate of < 20%; however, owing to the difficulty in accurately diagnosing LNM preoperatively, many patients with T1 GC undergo unnecessary invasive radical gastrectomy with lymphadenectomy.

FAM111B Suppression Enhances Sensitivity to Gemcitabine in Pancreatic Cancer Through Intracellular pH Regulation

open access: yesCancer Science, Volume 116, Issue 12, Page 3519-3531, December 2025.
Family with Sequence Similarity 111 Member B (FAM111B), cysteine/serine peptidase with molecular targets, are upregulated under acidic conditions. FAM111B suppression increased the sensitivity to gemcitabine through intracellular pH regulation. Moreover, FAM111B expression is correlated with poorer overall survival in pancreatic cancer patients ...
