Antagonism of 5‐HT7 Receptors as a Promising Target for Gastric Cancer via Apoptotic Pathway

open access: yesJournal of Biochemical and Molecular Toxicology, Volume 39, Issue 6, June 2025.
Antagonism of 5‐HT7 receptors as an approach for combating gastric cancer through the apoptotic pathway is targeted. The present study aims to unearth potential avenues for advanced therapeutic strategies in the battle against this devastating disease by exploring the intricate interactions between 5‐HT7 receptors and gastric cancer, as well as ...

Diagnosis and Treatment of Primary Tracheobronchial Tumors

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 14, Issue 9, May 2025.
ABSTRACT Background Primary tracheobronchial tumors (PTBTs) are rare but life‐threatening, accounting for approximately 0.2% of all respiratory neoplasms. Owing to their nonspecific clinical symptoms, PTBTs are often initially misdiagnosed as bronchial asthma or bronchitis in the early stages.

Management of Cardiac Implantable Electronic Devices in Patients With Severe Symptomatic Tricuspid Regurgitation—Proposed Algorithm and Selected Case Examples

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, Volume 105, Issue 6, Page 1395-1406, May 1, 2025.
ABSTRACT Severe tricuspid regurgitation (TR) is associated with significant morbidity and mortality. Management of severe TR includes treatment of the underlying cause(s), medical therapy and less commonly surgical tricuspid valve repair. Newer transcatheter tricuspid valve repair devices show promise for those patients who remain symptomatic with ...

Endoscopic findings and outcomes of gastric mucosal changes relating to potassium‐competitive acid blocker and proton pump inhibitor therapy

open access: yesDEN Open, Volume 5, Issue 1, April 2025.
Abstract Gastric mucosal changes associated with long‐term potassium‐competitive acid blocker and proton pump inhibitor (PPI) therapy may raise concern. In contrast to that for PPIs, the evidence concerning the safety of long‐term potassium‐competitive acid blocker use is scant.

Therapeutic targeting of TGF‐β in lung cancer

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, Volume 292, Issue 7, Page 1520-1557, April 2025.
Here, we discuss how lung cancer treatment can be transformed by targeting TGF‐β for better outcomes. Inhibiting TGF‐β signaling halts tumor growth, boosts immune response, and enhances treatment efficacy. By tackling TGF‐β's role in epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT) and immune evasion, this approach opens new avenues for more effective lung ...

Comprehensive transcriptome, miRNA and kinome profiling identifies new treatment options for personalized lung cancer therapy

open access: yesClinical and Translational Medicine, Volume 15, Issue 3, March 2025.
Kinase inhibition–based therapies are recommended for a small subset of LC patients with driver mutations. Through enabling technologies and bioinformatics, we demonstrate the potential of KI‐based therapies based on the patient specific needs. Thus, most LC patients become eligible for such treatment algorithms.
