Composite encapsulated papillary carcinoma and solid papillary carcinoma

Pathology International, 2014
Encapsulated papillary carcinoma (EPC) and solid papillary carcinoma (SPC) are distinctive variants of intraductal papillary carcinomas, each accounting for <1% of breast carcinomas. Here we report a composite carcinoma consisting of EPC and SPC. A 73‐year‐old woman was found to have a high density mass in the left breast on mammogram.

Papillary Carcinoma of the Breast

Tumori Journal, 1964
A series of 61 cases of papillary carcinoma of the breast are considered. They represent the 0.97 percent of 6300 cases of breast cancer observed at the National Cancer Institute of Milan from 1928 to 1964. The histological sections of all cases were reexamined and classified either as pure papillary carcinoma (31 cases) or as papillary carcinoma ...

Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma

Endocrinology and Metabolism Clinics of North America, 1990
Multiple prognostic factors for outcome in papillary thyroid carcinoma are identified. For a cohort of 1500 consecutive patients followed an average of 16 years, survival rates for tumor recurrence and cause-specific mortality are described. Risk groups derived from novel prognostic scoring or staging systems and the role of DNA ploidy testing are ...

Papillary Serous Carcinoma of the Retroperitoneum

Journal of Urology, 1983
We describe a retroperitoneal neoplasm in an 11-year-old girl which had a light microscopic appearance identical to that of papillary serous carcinoma of the ovary. There was no evidence of ovarian involvement. Immunohistochemical staining for amylase was positive within the cytoplasm of tumor cells. Since amylase is a marker for serous ovarian tumors,

Papillary carcinoma of the thyroid

Seminars in Surgical Oncology, 1991
AbstractThe clinical behavior and mortality rate of papillary carcinoma of the thyroid varies widely, and clinically insignificant microscopic foci of the disease are frequently found. Dietary iodine and radiation to the head and neck in childhood play a role in etiology. Needle aspiration cytology provides a highly accurate diagnosis.

Papilloma and papillary carcinoma

Seminars in Diagnostic Pathology, 2010
Papillomas and papillary carcinomas differ in their 3 fundamental characteristics: the geometric properties of their fronds, the amount of their stroma, and the characteristics of their epithelium. Fibrosis at the edge of papillomas often entraps glands and creates the spurious impression of invasion.

Papillary and Follicular Thyroid Carcinoma

New England Journal of Medicine, 1998
Papillary and follicular carcinomas of the thyroid are differentiated carcinomas developed from the follicular epithelium, that keep some of its morphological and functional characteristics. Their increased incidence is related to an improved screening. Thyroid carcinoma usually presents as a thyroid nodule.

Simultaneous occurrence of medullary carcinoma and papillary carcinoma and papillary carcinoma of the thyroid

Journal of Surgical Oncology, 1995
AbstractWe report a case of simultaneous occurrence of medullary carcinoma and papillary carcinoma of the thyroid in the same thyroid gland. Immunoreactivity of calcitonin, carcinoembryonic antigen, neuron specific enolase and thyroglobulin made a sharp distinction between both neoplasms of the thyroid.
