Summary Background and objectives Technical advances have allowed for significant improvements in imaging techniques in recent years. Specifically, lesions can now be depicted at a much higher magnification – up to 400 x – using optical super‐high magnification dermoscopy (OSHMD).

German‐Austrian guideline on screening for anal dysplasia and anal carcinoma in people living with HIV

Summary People with HIV are up to 100 times more likely to develop anal carcinoma compared to the general population. Diagnosing and treating precursor lesions, specifically high‐grade anal dysplasia, can significantly reduce the risk of developing anal carcinoma.

Verification in an animal study of the appropriate settings for a novel radiofrequency generator in radiofrequency ablation therapy for residual intraductal lesions after endoscopic papillectomy (with video)

Endoscopic intraductal radiofrequency ablation (ID‐RFA) can curatively treat residual intraductal lesions after endoscopic papillectomy. This study aimed to verify the tissue invasiveness of ID‐RFA using a novel RF generator and to explore its appropriate settings in an animal experiment, followed by a small clinical study.

Ectopic thyroid carcinoma in the left atrium in a horse

Summary A 25‐year‐old Irish sport horse was presented for investigation of a 7‐day history of apathy and lethargy. Clinical examination revealed tachycardia, tachypnoea, distended, pulsating jugular veins and ventral oedema. Serum biochemistry showed azotaemia.
