Aromatic biobased polymer latex from cardanol

open access: yesEuropean Polymer Journal, 2017
Abstract We present for the first time the aqueous emulsion radical polymerization of cardanol derived methacrylic monomer (CAMA) in order to pave the way for the replacement of styrene. This monomer was synthesized in two-step routes by epoxidation of cardanol prior to methacrylation.

Cross‐Coupling Reactions in Aqueous Micellar Media

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, Volume 28, Issue 33, September 20, 2025.
Aqueous micellar media have emerged as sustainable alternatives to organic solvents for small‐molecule synthesis. This Review discusses the evolution of surfactants for synthesis, their application to cross‐coupling reactions, the benefits for reactivity and sustainability, and the remaining challenges in this rapidly growing field.

5-Pentadecyl-2-((p-tolylimino)methyl)phenol

open access: yesMolbank, 2013
5-Pentadecyl-2-((p-tolylimino)methyl)phenol has been synthesized by reaction of 2-hydroxy-4-pentadecylbenzaldehyde with 4-amino-1-methyl-aniline in 1,4-dioxane under reflux. The structure of the synthesized compound was assigned on the basis of elemental

Plane-interface-induced lignin-based nanosheets and its reinforcing effect on styrene-butadiene rubber [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Lignin was viewed as a spherical microgel in aqueous alkali. While spread out in a monolayer or adsorbed on a surface, lignin was made up of flexible, disk-like molecules with approximately the same thickness of 2 nm.

Application of Bio‐Based Epoxy Monomers in Both Cationic and Thiol‐Epoxy Photopolymerization Processes

open access: yesMacromolecular Chemistry and Physics, Volume 226, Issue 17, September 5, 2025.
In this work, different bio‐Based Epoxy Monomers are studied in Both Cationic and Thiol‐Epoxy Photopolymerization Processes. Their thermo‐mechanical properties are characterized. ABSTRACT In this work, bisphenol A diglycidyl ether (BADGE) and four bio‐based epoxy monomers were used to investigate the kinetics of cationic photopolymerization of epoxy ...

Quality of Plywood Bonded with Nanolignin-Enriched Cardanol-Formaldehyde Adhesive

open access: yesFibers
Cardanol is a derivative of cashew nut shell liquid (CNSL) and has the potential to be used when developing adhesives for wood boards. Adding nanostructures to adhesive can increase its bonding and reduce formaldehyde emission.

Valorization of CNSL as a Sustainable Solution for PVC Plasticization: A Comprehensive Study of Cardanol–Cardol Mixture

open access: yesJournal of the American Oil Chemists' Society, Volume 102, Issue 8, Page 1141-1157, August 2025.
ABSTRACT For the first time, a mixture of cardanol and cardol esters has been studied as plasticizers for PVC. From our previous work, it has been established that the favorable plasticizing properties of cardol for PVC materials exist. Hence, the utilization of cashew nutshell liquid (CNSL), a naturally occurring mixture of cardanol and cardol, as a ...
