Sudden cardiac arrest

open access: yesIndian Heart Journal, 2014
Sudden cardiac arrest continues to be a major public health challenge. Nearly 20% of all mortality in industrialized countries is due to sudden cardiac arrest. This is of epidemic proportion and remains a daunting problem. The actual incidence of sudden cardiac death is highly variable but recent prospective studies using multiple sources in the United

Dysfunctional TRIM31 of POMC Neurons Provokes Hypothalamic Injury and Peripheral Metabolic Disorder under Long‐Term Fine Particulate Matter Exposure

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Particulate matter ≤2.5 µm (PM2.5) elevates risks of neurological and chronic metabolic diseases, but the underlying mechanisms linking PM2.5‐induced central nervous system (CNS) injury to metabolic dysfunction remain unclear. Hypothalamic pro‐opiomelanocortin‐expressing (POMC+) neurons regulate systemic metabolic homeostasis, and tripartite motif ...

CellPolaris: Transfer Learning for Gene Regulatory Network Construction to Guide Cell State Transitions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CellPolaris decodes how transcription factors guide cell fate by building gene regulatory networks from transcriptomic data using transfer learning. It generates tissue‐ and cell‐type‐specific networks, identifies master regulators in cell state transitions, and simulates TF perturbations in developmental processes.

Bioprinting of Microtissues Within Mechanically Tunable Support Baths to Engineer Anisotropic Musculoskeletal Tissues

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents a novel 4D bioprinting platform for engineering biomimetic musculoskeletal grafts. By tuning the mechanical properties of support baths, we enhance tissue fusion, collagen alignment, and cell differentiation. Using this strategy, we successfully fabricate scaled‐up, anisotropic tissues such as meniscus, articular cartilage, and ...

Comparison of return of spontaneous circulation prediction scores in patients with cardiac arrest during ambulance transport

open access: yesBMC Emergency Medicine
Background Cardiac arrest during ambulance transport is a complex situation that has features of both in-hospital cardiac arrest (IHCA) and out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) but lacks a clear classification.

Sudden Cardiac Arrest during Participation in Competitive Sports - systematic review

open access: yesQuality in Sport
Introduction: Sudden cardiac arrest during sporting events always arouses strong emotions. No one expects that sudden cardiac arrest could occur in a young, athletic person. There are about 90 cases of sudden cardiac arrest in Poland every day. It may seem
