Longstanding Persistent Atrial Fibrillation Ablation: How Do You Perform It?
Longstanding-persistent atrial fibrillation is one of the most challenging arrhythmias to treat. While radiofrequency catheter ablation is highly effective in paroxysmal atrial fibrillation, pulmonary vein antral isolation (including posterior wall ...

Microphysiological Uremia Model Reveals Biophysical Potentiators of Vascular Dysfunction
A microfluidic platform of engineered blood vessels is developed to study the role of mechanical forces in immune cell adhesion and extravasation in uremic microenvironments. Elevated pressure increases monocyte activity, with ICAM‐1 as a key driver. Matrix density influences monocyte phenotypes, but the uremic environment consistently promoted a pro ...

High-Power Short-Duration Ablation of Paroxysmal and Persistent Atrial Fibrillation
Catheter ablation has become a cornerstone in atrial fibrillation (AF) therapy, improving freedom from all-atrial arrhythmias, as well as outperforming antiarrhythmic drugs in alleviating AF-related symptoms, reducing hospitalizations, and enhancing ...

Parasubthalamic Glutamatergic Neurons Coordinate Cardiovascular Homeostasis and Locomotion in Mice
PSTNVglut2 neurons function as a new central baroreflex hub via projections to the NTS, modulating parasympathetic cardiac output to maintain cardiovascular homeostasis while synchronously regulating locomotion. Blood pressure fluctuations negatively correlate with locomotor performance.

Patch‐clamp experiments are fundamental to the measurement and understanding of ion currents that underlie physiological functions from neural activity to muscle contraction. Via a mathematical model of the experimental apparatus, this article highlights how artifact effects can be as large as some reported mutation and drug effects, and enables ...

The upregulation of PFKM activates glycolysis, thereby enhancing lactate production in atrial tissue. Atrial lactate accumulation promotes global lactylation and H3K18 lactylation in atrial fibroblasts. P300‐mediated H3K18 lactylation up‐regulates TGF‐β1 transcription, leading to fibroblast activation and thereby contributing to atrial fibrosis.

Arrhythmias in Cardiac Amyloidosis [PDF]
Arrhythmias are common in cardiac amyloidosis and vary based on the amyloidosis type. Conduction defects and atrial arrhythmias are more prevalent in transthyretin amyloidosis compared with light chain amyloidosis, and this difference might be a reflection of the longer survival time in the former.

EBBP expression is significantly upregulated in DOX‐treated cardiomyocytes. Mechanistically, EBBP interacts with GRP78 to mediate K63‐linked ubiquitination, thereby attenuating the inhibitory GRP78‐PERK interaction and triggering activation of the PERK‐mediated integrated stress response (ISR).
