Convolutional neural network for classification of eight types of arrhythmia using 2D time–frequency feature map from standard 12-lead electrocardiogram

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
Electrocardiograms (ECGs) are widely used for diagnosing cardiac arrhythmia based on the deformation of signal shapes due to changes in various heart diseases.

Diagnostic yield and variant reassessment in the genes encoding Nav1.5 channel in Russian patients with Brugada syndrome

open access: yesFrontiers in Pharmacology, 2022
Brugada syndrome (BrS) is an inherited cardiac arrhythmia characterized by ST-elevation, negative T-wave, and a high risk of sudden cardiac death (SCD) due to ventricular tachycardia.

Cellular Responses to Mechanical Cues Across Scales: From Fundamental Insights to Translational Potential

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This review examines how cellular behavior is regulated by mechanical cues transmitted through soft biomaterials, from single‐cell mechanosensing to tissue‐level adaptation. It highlights why physiological relevance, rather than model complexity alone, is critical for translational mechanobiology and introduces a scoring framework linking material ...

Patient‐Derived 3D Heart‐On‐a‐Chip Model of Dilated Cardiomyopathy With Embedded Bead‐Based Mapping of Tissue Contractility

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A heart‐on‐a‐chip model of dilated cardiomyopathy is developed from patient‐derived induced pluripotent stem cells. The model recapitulates key disease phenotypes and enables functional assessment through integrated bead‐based tracking and pillar deflection measurements.

Conjugated Porphyrin Polymer With Superior Charge Transfer for Photodynamic‐Immunomodulatory Prevention of CIED Infection in Diabetes

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Under NIR irradiation, PTCPP generates ROS to eliminate MRSA biofilms and promote M1 macrophage polarization for phagocytosis. After bacterial clearance, the material is phagocytosed by macrophages, shifting their polarization to M2 phenotype via metabolic reprogramming, which synergistically enhances anti‐infection therapy and wound healing.

"Re-evaluation of variants of uncertain significance in patients with hereditary arrhythmogenic disorders"

open access: yesBMC Cardiovascular Disorders
Background Genetic diagnostics support the diagnosis of hereditary arrhythmogenic diseases, but variants of uncertain significance (VUS) complicate matters, emphasising the need for regular reassessment.

A narrative review of inherited arrhythmogenic syndromes in young population: role of genetic diagnosis in exercise recommendations

open access: yesBMJ Open Sport & Exercise Medicine
Sudden cardiac death is a rare but socially devastating event, especially if occurs in young people. Usually, this unexpected lethal event occurs during or just after exercise. One of the leading causes of sudden cardiac death is inherited arrhythmogenic

Incident cardiac arrhythmias associated with metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease: a nationwide histology cohort study

open access: yesCardiovascular Diabetology, 2023
Background Prior studies suggest a link between metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) and incident arrhythmias, including atrial fibrillation (AF).
