Cross‐Scale Hierarchical Targeted Delivery System Based on Small‐Scale Magnetic Robots

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This article reviews a cross‐scale hierarchical targeted delivery system that integrates magnetic continuum robots and magnetic microrobots. By combining rapid long‐range navigation with precise microscale targeting, the system overcomes key limitations of single‐scale approaches.

Recent Advances in the Treatment of ST-Segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction

open access: yesScientifica, 2012
ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) represents the most urgent condition for patients with coronary artery disease. Prompt diagnosis and therapy, mainly with primary angioplasty using stents, are important in improving not only acute ...

44. Copeptin as early marker of acute non-ST elevation myocardial infarction in patients suspected with acute coronary syndrome

open access: yesJournal of the Saudi Heart Association, 2016
Rapid diagnosis and management of AMI have great impact on morbidity and mortality. Diagnosis which is based on elevation of cardiac biomarkers has its limitations. Copeptin is the C-terminal part of the vasopressin prohormone.

Effect of Center Catheterization Volume on Risk of Catastrophic Adverse Event Following Cardiac Catheterization in Children

open access: yesAmerican Heart Journal, 2015
Background Procedural volume has been shown to be associated with outcome in cardiac catheterization and intervention in adults. The impact of center-level factors (such as volume) and their interaction with subject- and procedure-level factors on ...

Strategic Design of Soft Actuators in Translational Medical Robotics for Human‐Centered Healthcare

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Soft robotics enables biocompatible, compliant medical devices, but clinical translation requires design‐driven engineering beyond materials. This perspective reviews implantable, surgical, and wearable systems by actuation mechanism, highlighting how optimized architectures and integration improve mechanical interfacing, adaptability, and durability ...

Transcatheter intervention of modified Blalock–Taussig shunts in patients with hypoplastic left heart syndrome undergoing stage 1 palliation

open access: yesFrontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine
BackgroundWhile several studies have explored the outcomes of transcatheter interventions for modified Blalock–Taussig shunts (MBTSs) in a broad range of congenital heart diseases, none have specifically examined the interventions in patients with ...

Distal transradial access: a review of the feasibility and safety in cardiovascular angiography and intervention

open access: yesBMC Cardiovascular Disorders, 2020
Background Transradial access (TRA) has been considered as the default choice in cardiac catheterization. Although infrequent, vascular complications of this approach remain. Recently, the distal transradial approach (dTRA) in cardiac catheterization was

Optimization of Magnetic Milli‐Spinner for Robotic Endovascular Intervention

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This work presents the design optimization of a multifunctional magnetic milli‐spinner for high‐speed propulsion and efficient clot debulking. The optimized design achieves an ultrafast swimming velocity of 55 cm/s (≈175 body lengths/s) in saline water, enabling stable upstream swimming against strong physiological flows and establishing magnetic milli‐

Primary transcatheter dilation of the pulmonary valve in cyanotic patients with tetralogy of Fallot and dominant pulmonary valve stenosis

open access: yesFrontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine
ObjectivesThis study reviews the outcome of pulmonary valve dilation (PVB) in patients with tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) and predominantly pulmonary valve stenosis as first palliation and the impact of balloon-related cusp tears (BRCTs) on the surgical ...
