Left atrial myxoma with neovascularization: detected on cardiac computed tomography angiography

The International Journal of Cardiovascular Imaging, 2009
Two patients with a left atrial mass underwent preoperative cardiac computed tomography angiography (CCTA) to rule out coronary artery disease. CCTA revealed an anomalous tortuous vascular structure originating from the coronary artery to the left atrial tumor suggestive of neovascularization. Preoperative CCTA was useful for coronary artery evaluation

DIAGNOSTIC REFERENCE LEVELS IN CARDIAC COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY ANGIOGRAPHY: A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW

Radiation Protection Dosimetry, 2017
Cardiac computed tomography angiography (CCTA) is a commonly used diagnostic tool for cardiovascular disease. Despite constant improvements to imaging technologies, the radiation dose to patients from CCTA remains a concern when using this procedure.

Development of three-dimensional cardiac models from computed tomography angiography

Journal of Veterinary Cardiology
Three-dimensional (3D) modeling and printing is an emerging technology in veterinary cardiovascular medicine allowing the fabrication of anatomically correct patient-specific models. These patient-specific models can be used for a wide range of purposes including medical teaching, assessment of cardiac function and movement of valve leaflets, design ...

Utilization of cardiac computed tomography angiography and outpatient invasive coronary angiography in Ontario, Canada

Journal of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography, 2015
Cardiac computed tomography angiography (coronary CTA) has emerged as a non-invasive method of diagnosing coronary artery disease. The extent of utilization and uptake of this technology since initiation of its funding by the government of Ontario is unknown. The aim of our study was to examine coronary CTA utilization and the rates of elective invasive

Computed Tomography Cardiac Angiography Findings in Patients With Sheehan Syndrome

Endocrine Practice
Sheehan Syndrome (SS), or postpartum pituitary necrosis, is associated with an elevated risk of atherosclerotic cardiovascular diseases, driven by factors such as dyslipidemia, chronic inflammation, and growth hormone deficiency. To better understand the prevalence and characteristics of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease in this population, we ...

64-Channel Cardiac Computed Tomography

Journal of Computer Assisted Tomography, 2009
To assess intraobserver and interobserver variation in computed tomography coronary angiography (CTA) in 3 patient cohorts at very low, low-to-intermediate, and intermediate-to-high likelihood of coronary artery disease (CAD).One hundred thirty-three patients underwent 64-channel CTA.

Cardiac Computed Tomography Angiography in Infants and Young Children Without Sedation

Indian Journal of Pediatrics
Cardiac computed tomography (CT) imaging plays a pivotal role in the diagnosis and management of infants and young children with congenital heart disease (CHD). While the benefits of CT imaging are well-established, the challenge lies in adapting these procedures to the unique requirements of infants and young children. Traditionally, sedation has been
