Hemodialitic treatment of cardiac failure

The various options for treatment of diuretic-resistant edema in heart failure and report on their experience with on line bicarbonate daily hemofiltration (135 min) in 16 patients with congestive heart failure IV class NYHA is discussed. The outcome was excellent. Only 6 patients died. Survival averaged 25 weeks in 4 patients.
