Adipose Mesenchymal Stem Cell‐Derived Exosomes in Conjunction with Roflumilast Ameliorate Chronic Kidney Disease Through the Modulation of Fibrosis and Inflammation

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
The novelty of this study showed that the injection of exosomes produced from ADMSCs in combination with Roflumilast poses a more favorable therapeutic outcome for CKD induced by Adriamycin, compared to therapy with exosomes or Roflumilast alone. Roflumilast and exosomes treatment lowered the expression of the apoptotic, fibrotic, and inflammatory ...

3D (Bio) Printing Combined Fiber Fabrication Methods for Tissue Engineering Applications: Possibilities and Limitations

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Biofabrication aims at providing innovative technologies and tools for the fabrication of tissue‐like constructs for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine applications. By integrating multiple biofabrication technologies, such as 3D (bio) printing with fiber fabrication methods, it would be more realistic to reconstruct native tissue's ...

Micropatterned Biphasic Printed Electrodes for High‐Fidelity on‐Skin Bioelectronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Micropatterned biphasic printed electrodes achieve unprecedented skin conformity and low impedance by combining liquid‐metal droplets with microstructured 3D lattices. This scalable approach enables high‐fidelity detection of ECG, EMG, and EEG signals, including alpha rhythms from the forehead, with long‐term comfort and stability.

Electrical Remodeling and Low Voltage Areas in Atrial Fibrillation Patients with Functional Mitral Regurgitation: A Multicenter Evaluation

open access: yesReviews in Cardiovascular Medicine
Background: Atrial fibrosis may act as a substrate for atrial fibrillation (AF) and atrial functional mitral regurgitation (MR); thus, recognition is required to select the optimal therapeutic intervention.

Epigenomic regulation of heart failure: integrating histone marks, long noncoding RNAs, and chromatin architecture. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Epigenetic processes are known to have powerful roles in organ development across biology. It has recently been found that some of the chromatin modulatory machinery essential for proper development plays a previously unappreciated role in the ...

Cholesterol in mRNA‐Lipid Nanoparticles can be Replaced with the Synthetic Mycobacterial Monomycoloyl Glycerol Analogue MMG‐1

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that cholesterol in messenger RNA‐lipid nanoparticles (mRNA‐LNPs) can be completely replaced with an immunopotentiating lipid, i.e., a synthetic analogue of the C‐type lectin receptor agonist monomycoloyl glycerol (MMG‐1), without compromising physicochemical properties, in vivo transfection efficiency, and immunogenicity of the

Gut microbe-derived betulinic acid alleviates sepsis-induced acute liver injury by inhibiting macrophage NLRP3 inflammasome in mice

open access: yesmBio
Sepsis-induced acute liver injury (SALI) is a prevalent and life-threatening complication associated with sepsis. The gut microbiota plays a crucial role in the maintenance of health and the development of diseases. The impact of physical exercise on gut
