Usefulness of right ventricular function with time intensity curve of rest perfusion cardiac MRI

2018
Aims and objectives: Background Recently, right ventricular ejection fraction (RV-EF) has been shown to be an important prognostic factor of left heart failure, in addition to left ventricle ejection fraction (LV-EF), and is used to conventionally measure cardiac...

[Novel assessment of intracellular calcium transient decay in cardiac muscle by curve-fitting with half-logistic function].

Masui. The Japanese journal of anesthesiology, 2008
A decrease in intracellular calcium (Ca2+) concentration in the cardiac muscle is one of the important factors to induce myocardial relaxation. A mono-exponential (m-E) function has been used for assessing myocardial relaxation curve of isometric tension and intracellular calcium transient (CaT) decay, and the m-E time constants for the relaxation ...

Evaluation of cardiac function and venous return curves in awake, unanesthetized cialves with an implanted total artificial heart.

Transactions - American Society for Artificial Internal Organs, 1975
1) The implanted TAH offers a method of evaluating the effects of varying physiologic demands cardiac output and venous return. 2) Cardiac output and venous return measurements offer a method of evaluating system design of the device and driving and control-logic improvements in awake, unanesthetized animals. 3) The obtained cardiac function and venous

[Interdependence of preload, afterload and contractility: their relation to cardiac function curve].

Masui. The Japanese journal of anesthesiology, 1993
Formerly, the major determinants of cardiac performance, i.e., preload, afterload contractility, and heart rate had been considered independent. This individual concept of these determinants was originally advocated by E.H. Sonnenblick in 1960's, providing an extremely useful tool in understanding basic cardiac mechanical physiology.

Heart rate and cardiac function curves. Their dependence on the age of the myocardium and the compliance of the ejection circuit.

Pathologie-biologie, 1978
Isolated, perfused hearts from 16 rats aged from 13 to 17 months were studied to examine the effects of age and of the compliance of the ejection circuit on heart rate and cardiac function curves. Heart rate was found to diminish both with age and with decreasing compliance of the ejection circuit.
