VIVID: A qPCR‐Based Platform for Sensitive and Quantitative In Vivo Tracking of Extracellular Vesicles

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces VIVID (Vesicle In Vivo Identification using DNA), a qPCR‐based platform that tracks PCR‐amplifiable DNA tags loaded in the EVs for accurate and quantifiable EV biodistribution in vivo. ABSTRACT Extracellular vesicles (EVs) represent promising carriers for nucleic acid therapeutics, offering advantages over synthetic nanoparticles ...

Bio‐Inspired Molecular Events in Poly(Ionic Liquids)

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Originating from dipolar and polar inter‐ and intra‐chain interactions of the building blocks, the topologies and morphologies of poly(ionic liquids) (PIL) govern their nano‐ and micro‐processibility. Modulating the interactions of cation‐anion pairs with aliphatic dipolar components enables the tunability of properties, facilitated by “bottom‐up ...

Methods of Assessment and Clinical Relevance of QT Dynamics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The dependence on heart rate of the QT interval has been investigated for many years and several mathematical formulae have been proposed to describe the QT interval/heart rate (or QT interval/RR interval) relationship. While the most popular is Bazett’s

MAGTWIST: A Magnetically‐Driven Rotary Actuator Using a Traveling‐Wave With Integrated Stiffness Tunability

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
MAGTWIST: A compact magnetic rotary actuator, enabling smooth, stepless rotation, and on‐demand locking. Inspired by peristalsis, a soft polymer belt generates a traveling‐wave, enabling 270° rotation when heated. Cooling stiffens the belt, locking it in position and enabling it to withstand high loads.

Gourd‐Inspired Design of Unit Cell with Multiple Gradients for Physiological‐Range Pressure Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Gourd‐shaped micro‐dome arrays with coordinated modulus, conductivity, and geometric gradients co‐optimize sensitivity and linearity in piezoresistive tactile sensors. Under pressure, a solid upper dome embeds into a porous lower dome, triggering rapid contact‐area growth and series‐to‐parallel conduction, enabling unsaturated, intensity‐resolved ...

Examination of Cardiac Activity with ECG Monitoring Using Heart Rate Variability Methods

open access: yesDiagnostics
The paper presents a system for analyzing cardiac activity with the possibility of continuous and remote monitoring. The created sensor mobile device monitors heart activity by means of the convenient and imperceptible registration of cardiac signals. At

Non-valvular atrial fibrillation and stroke : implications for management [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
Nonvalvular Atrial Fibrillation is more prevalent with increasing age. It is associated with a six-fold excess risk of stroke; and a cumulative lifetime stroke risk of 35%. 15% of ischaemic strokes are directly attributable to it.

Risk-stratified optimization of skin care protocols for children with cardiac monitors: a data-driven clinical framework

open access: yesFrontiers in Pediatrics
ObjectiveTo develop a risk-stratified nursing protocol reducing electrode-related skin injuries (MARSI) in pediatric cardiac monitoring.MethodsUsing logistic regression, we analyzed risk factors (allergy history, eosinophil indices, wear duration) in 229

Fluid therapy and resuscitation in equine neonates [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Fluid therapy and resuscitation in equine neonates One of the main dilemmas when evaluating a sick neonatal foal is whether or not fluid therapy is indicated.
