Iliocaval fistula with high output cardiac failure
Fistulous communications between the common iliac arteries and inferior vena cava are very uncommon and usually occur as a result of trauma, aneurysmal rupture, or endovascular repair.

Gaze-Assisted Human-Centric Domain Adaptation for Cardiac Ultrasound Image Segmentation [PDF]
Domain adaptation (DA) for cardiac ultrasound image segmentation is clinically significant and valuable. However, previous domain adaptation methods are prone to be affected by the incomplete pseudo-label and low-quality target to source images. Human-centric domain adaptation has great advantages of human cognitive guidance to help model adapt to ...

NF2 is Essential for Human Endoderm Development
This study demonstrates that NF2, moesin‐ezrin‐radixin like (MERLIN) tumor suppressor (NF2) is essential for human endoderm formation. NF2 knockout human induced pluripotent stem cells fail to form endoderm both in vitro and in vivo due to yes‐associated protein 1 (YAP1) nuclear translocation, redirecting differentiation toward myofibroblast‐like cells.

An integrated heart-torso electromechanical model for the simulation of electrophysiogical outputs accounting for myocardial deformation [PDF]
When generating in-silico clinical electrophysiological outputs, such as electrocardiograms (ECGs) and body surface potential maps (BSPMs), mathematical models have relied on single physics, i.e. of the cardiac electrophysiology (EP), neglecting the role of the heart motion.

Epileptiform Activity and Seizure Risk Follow Long‐Term Non‐Linear Attractor Dynamics
This study leverages the HAVOK framework to model long‐term, nonlinear attractor dynamics underlying epileptiform activity and seizure risk in epilepsy patients. By identifying key forcing mechanisms driving chaotic transitions, the findings improve seizure risk forecasting over multi‐day cycles and provide a pathway for personalized, data‐driven ...

Ca2+/calmodulin‐dependent kinase II (CaMKII) activation is likely driven by oxidative stress, particularly excessive reactive oxygen species (ROS) production. This study identifies P21‐activated kinase 2 (Pak2) as a novel regulator of ROS‐induced CaMKII activation and abnormal Ca2⁺ dynamics in acute adrenergic and chronic pressure‐overload stressed ...
