Radial outer retina reflectivity (RORR) sign in LAMP2‐associated retinopathy

open access: yesActa Ophthalmologica, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose To describe the radial outer retina reflectivity (RORR) sign in patients carrying pathogenic variants in the X‐linked lysosome‐associated membrane protein‐2 (LAMP2) gene and to review the histologic characteristics of LAMP2 expression in the human retina.

Impact of a Right Ventricular Impedance Sensor on the Cardiovascular Responses to Exercise in Pacemaker Dependent Patients

open access: yes, 2005
Background. The evaluation of the heart rate (HR) response to exercise is important for the assessment of the rate response algorithm of sensor-controlled pacemakers.

The first case of Reel Syndrome in a dog after pacemaker implantation: A case report

open access: yesAustralian Veterinary Journal, EarlyView.
Reel Syndrome is a rare complication of permanent pacemaker implantation, characterised by the rotation of the device around its transverse axis, which causes the lead to coil around the generator and displacement, leading to pacing dysfunction. This report presents the first documented case of Reel Syndrome in a dog.

Computer reconstruction of the cardiac pacemaker

open access: yes, 2006
Sinoatrial (SA) node, the pacemaker of the heart, is a structurally and functionally complex tissue. The role of this complexity in initiation and conduction of the pacemaker activity is not fully understood.

Refining the treatment of immune checkpoint inhibitor–associated myocarditis: Challenges, innovations and rechallenge considerations

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI)‐associated myocarditis has emerged as a severe and clinically complex immune‐related toxicity that poses significant challenges for therapeutic decision‐making in routine cardio‐oncological care. High‐dose corticosteroids remain the first‐line therapy, yet their timing, dosage and tapering require careful clinical ...

Chd4 and ThPOK cooperate to preserve structural and electrophysiological integrity of the adult heart through Sprr1a repression

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
Chd4/NuRD and ThPOK cooperate to maintain transcriptional repression and nuclear organization in adult cardiomyocytes. Chd4 loss reduces miR‐150‐5p, relieving repression of Sprr1a, while ThPOK loss further enhances Sprr1a activation, possibly through altered chromatin–lamina interactions.

Circadian Deregulation in Multiple Myeloma: BMAL1/CLOCK Expression Patterns and Diagnostic Performance

open access: yesInternational Journal of Laboratory Hematology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Circadian clock disruption has emerged as a relevant axis in cancer; however, the expression patterns and diagnostic relevance of BMAL1 and CLOCK in multiple myeloma (MM) remain insufficiently defined. Methods BMAL1 and CLOCK mRNA expression was quantified by RT‐qPCR in bone marrow samples from 46 newly diagnosed MM patients and 13 ...

Keeping the Rhythm : Cardiac Pacemaker Cell Development

open access: yes, 2017
The heart is the first organ to form and function in the developing vertebrate embryo. Its proper morphogenesis and function is crucial for survival. Here we focus on the development and characterization of a highly specialized subset of cardiac cells ...
