In Vivo Direct Reprogramming: Current Progress and Future Prospects from Mechanisms to Therapeutic Application

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This review examines the potential of in vivo direct reprogramming in regenerative medicine for functional tissue restoration, highlighting the role of tissue‐resident cues in generating functionally mature reprogrammed cells from lineage‐related cells. It contains a discussion on mechanisms, reprogramming factors, delivery approaches, and applications

GSTM4 Suppresses Prostate Cancer Progression by Targeting TRIM27‐mediated ACLY Ubiquitination and Lipid Metabolism

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
GSTM4 enhances the interaction between ACLY and the E3 ubiquitin ligase TRIM27, thereby increasing K48‐linked ubiquitination at the K554 site of ACLY and promoting its degradation. Consequently, GSTM4 regulates lipid synthesis, as well as the proliferation and metastasis of PCa cells, by modulating ACLY stability.

Characteristics of myocardial work during exercise stress echocardiography in healthy adults

open access: yesFrontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine
BackgroundNon-invasive myocardial work (MW) is a more precise parameter for evaluating left ventricular (LV) systolic function. However, studies examining sex-based differences in MW during exercise stress echocardiography (SE) in healthy individuals are

Increased Disarray of Extracellular Matrix Collagen‐I Fiber Network and Compromised Biomechanics in Aortae From Marfan‐Syndrome Mice Assessed Through Combined Opto‐Biomechatronics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Combined structure‐function assessment in aortic rings from Marfan mice using MechaMorph Opto‐Biomechatronics technology relates increased elasticity (stiffness) and dynamic viscosity and less ordered extracellular matrix 3D‐structure (collagen) as potential causes for impaired Windkessel function and compromised haemodynamics in Marfan's syndrome ...

NSUN2‐Mediated m5C Modification of TGFB1 in Trophoblasts Remodels Macrophage Function to Prevent URSA

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
NSUN2 and m5C decline in URSA villous tissues. Trophoblast Nsun2 ablation disrupts macrophage‐mediated maternal‐fetal tolerance and triggers embryo resorption. Mechanistically, NSUN2‐YBX1 axis stabilizes m5C‐modified TGFB1 mRNA to maintain TGF‐β1 secretion and M2 polarization, and restoring this signaling rescues maternal‐fetal immune tolerance to ...

Rapid bedside multimodal ultrasound screening for acute type A aortic dissection: a perspective

open access: yesFrontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine
Acute type A aortic dissection (ATAAD) is a life-threatening cardiovascular emergency where delays in diagnosis worsen outcomes. While computed tomography angiography remains the diagnostic gold standard, its requirement for patient transport, contrast ...

Left atrial energy loss as a novel predictor of mortality and cardiovascular events in chronic kidney disease patients with preserved ejection fraction

open access: yesBMC Cardiovascular Disorders
Background Patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) have an increased risk of cardiovascular adverse events and abnormal intracardiac blood flow, which are commonly underestimated when evaluated by traditional echocardiographic parameters. Energy loss (
