Guar responses to temperature: Estimation of cardinal temperatures and photosynthetic parameters

Industrial Crops and Products, 2020
Abstract Temperature is the primary environmental determinant of geographic distribution and productivity of plant species. There has been increased interest in the cultivation of guar [Cyamopsis tetragonoloba (L.) Taub.] in many countries including the United States due to the high demand of guar gum in the oil fracking industry.

Borage cardinal germination temperatures and seed development

Industrial Crops and Products, 2014
Abstract Borage (Borago officinalis L.) is an oilseed crop with oil rich in γ-linolenic acid (GLA) utilized mostly in the pharmaceutical and nutritional industries. Because of borage's high value but low volume of production, many important best management practices are not well-defined, which could limit borage's potential. Two important factors for

Cardinal temperatures for germination of Kochia scoparia (L.)

Journal of Arid Environments, 2007
Abstract In order to examine seed germination responses of kochia ( Kochia scoparia L. Schrad) to temperature regimes, an experiment was performed in a completely randomized design with two replications. The trial was conducted at 8, and 5 °C intervals from 10 to 40 °C.

Surface temperature determination from borehole measurements: regularization by cardinal series

Nonlinear Analysis: Theory, Methods & Applications, 2002
The authors consider the problem of recovering the temperature on the surface of a heat conducting half-plane from temperature measurements on an interior line, given the initial temperature. The problem, which is ill-posed, is regularized by truncated integration and expansion in cardinal series. Error estimates and numerical results are given, and an

Cardinal Temperatures and Thermal Time for Germination of Sarawak Traditional Rice

Malaysian Applied Biology, 2023
Germination of two rice landraces, namely Bario Sederhana and Biris, was determined from twelve temperatures (12.5 – 40 ºC) in a series of incubation experiments. The cardinal temperatures and thermal time for germination were estimated from a ‘broken-stick’ linear model. Both landraces had a Tb of 10 ºC, Topt between 32 – 33 ºC, and Tmax of 43 ºC.
