Limiting temperatures of embryo growth and seed germination of Fraxinus excelsior L. (Oleaceae): a threshold model approach

open access: yesAnnals of Forest Science, 2023
Key message We have examined thermal control for embryo growth and seed germination in European ash. Using historical data (span of 36 years) of embryo index in matured seeds, we showed that maturation is not influenced by the annual average temperature.

Predicting Germination Response to Temperature. I. Cardinal-temperature Models and Subpopulation-specific Regression [PDF]

open access: yesAnnals of Botany, 2006
The purpose of this study was to compare the relative accuracy of different thermal-germination models in predicting germination-time under constant-temperature conditions. Of specific interest was the assessment of shape assumptions associated with the cardinal-temperature germination model and probit distribution often used to distribute thermal ...

Validating the Impact of Water Potential and Temperature on Seed Germination of Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) via Hydrothermal Time Model

open access: yesLife, 2022
Wheat is the most extensively cultivated crop and occupies a central place in human nutrition providing 20% of the daily food calories. This study was conducted to find both T and ψ effects on wheat germination and the cardinal Ts value; a lab experiment

Prognosis of Long‐Term Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy and the Impact of Combined Continuous Intravenous Sodium Infusion Therapy

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Patients requiring long‐term continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) generally have poor prognoses. This study evaluated whether adding continuous intravenous sodium infusion (cIVNa) is associated with improved hemodynamics and outcomes in patients undergoing long‐term CRRT for ≥ 7 days.

Evaluation of Germination and determination of cardinal temperatures of Cannabis sativa by using regression models [PDF]

open access: yesعلوم و فناوری بذر ایران, 2018
To determine the specific temperature of Medicinal Cannabis sativa, the effects of different temperatures on germination, in a laboratory study in a completely randomized design with three replications were studied.

Germination Response of Different Castor Bean Genotypes to Temperature for Early and Late Sowing Adaptation in the Mediterranean Regions

open access: yesAgriculture, 2023
Germination of castor seeds of seven dwarf hybrid genotypes, compared to a ‘Local’ genotype, selected from a Tunisian population by the University of Catania well adapted to the Mediterranean environment, were studied at six different temperatures (8, 12,

Determination cardinal temperatures seeds germination of two lentil genotype (Lens culinaris Medik) under various priming [PDF]

open access: yesعلوم و فناوری بذر ایران, 2020
In order to determine the cardinal temperatures for seed germination of two lentil cultivars(Robat and Calposh) a factorial experimental were conducted base on completely randomized design with four replications.

Cardinal temperatures and thermal requirements for germination of cineraria seed

open access: yesThe Journal of Horticultural Science and Biotechnology, 2000
SummaryEffects of temperature on the rate of germination, measured as the reciprocal of the time taken for half the population to germinate, were studied in cineraria cvs Cindy Blue and Cindy Dark Red. The base, optimum and maximum temperatures for germination were derived respectively as 1.6, 24.8 and 37.8°C in cv.

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...
