Gut microbiota alterations in patients with non‐small‐cell lung cancer undergoing chemoradiotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We investigated the impact of concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CRT) on the gut microbiota in patients with locally advanced non‐small‐cell lung cancer. Overall gut microbiota composition remained largely stable throughout CRT while antibiotic exposure may influence microbial diversity.

Application of tuft disentanglement model in taker-in part of a cotton card

open access: yesJournal of Industrial Textiles
In the early stage, we established a tuft disentanglement model considering the interaction between fibers. In the disentanglement model, the fiber was assumed to be a multi-rigid chain model, with only friction between fibers.

Ultrafast visual detection of Streptococcus suis via HtpsC‐targeted LAMP–CRISPR–Cas12a coupled with lateral flow immunochromatography

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
A rapid visual test combines DNA amplification, CRISPR–based target verification, and a lateral flow strip to detect Streptococcus suis. The assay gives results in about 45 min, reduces false‐positive interpretation, and does not require fluorescence equipment.

Combing carbon fibre arrays

open access: yesPartial Differential Equations in Applied Mathematics
Before they can be reused, recycled carbon fibres are combed using a carding machine which is a technology widely used in the textile industry. We revisit the carding model of Lee and Ockendon (2005) to develop a continuum model for the alignment of an ...
