Pericardial fat simulating cardiomegaly

open access: yesAmerican Heart Journal, 1965
Abstract A case of pericardial fat that gave rise to an enlarged cardiac silhouette simulating cardiomegaly is presented. The virtual encasement of the heart by the large accumulation of pericardial fat led to difficulty in the differential diagnosis. The cardiomegaly was shown by tomography to be due to fat.
