Cardiomegaly Following Extensive Burns
Annals of Plastic Surgery, 1987One of our patients had been recovering from prolonged illness for about eight months following extensive deep burns of the lower limbs, along with other complications, when he had a sudden attack of acute dyspnea with orthopnea. The cause of this condition was diagnosed as secondary hypodynamic cardiomyopathy.

Cardiomyopathy with Cardiomegaly: A Diagnostic Dilemma
Angiology, 1981The clinical, angiographic, and available autopsy data of 32 patients with cardiomyopathy with cardiomegaly were reviewed. Twenty-six patients had alcoholic cardiomyopathy. Of these, 20 patients had patent coronary arteries, and 6 had significant occlusive coronary artery disease.
