New species of Horistonotus Candèze from Brazil (Coleoptera, Elateridae, Cardiophorinae)

Eight species of Horistonotus Candèze (1860), from states of Alagoas and Sergipe, are described and illustrated and a provisional identification key for all Brazilian species of this genus is provided. The described species were collected in the Caatinga, semi-desert tropical woodland, in the Northeastern Region of Brazil.

New species of Triplonychus Candèze and Globothorax Fleutiaux from Brazil (Coleoptera, Elateridae, Cardiophorinae)

Three new species of Triplonychus Candèze, T. cruspinosus sp. nov., T. crassifemoris sp. nov. and T. tibialatus sp. nov., and a new species of Globothorax Fleutiaux, G. latidens sp. nov., from Brazil are described. Illustrations, photographic and SEM images are presented.

Aptopus Eschscholtz is a native of the Mexico sonar light trap Huachuca Mountain of south central Arizona. This species has been first time observed from district Khairpur Sindh province of Pakistan from (March 2018 to October 2019), these observation represent first record of this species from Sindh or Pakistan.

Phylogenetic analysis of Cardiophorinae (Coleoptera, Elateridae) inferred from adult morphology in Egypt

Phylogenetic relationships based on adult morphological characters of the subfamily Cardiophorinae genera, subgenera and species were performed for the first time in Egypt. The phylogenetic relationships among 20 Cardiophorinae species were based on computerized cladistic analysis of matrix of 43 adult morphological characters.

Phylogenetic relationships of Elateridae inferred from adult morphology, with special reference to the position of Cardiophorinae

A phylogeny is presented for the Elateridae, inferred from parsimony and Bayesian analyses of 175 adult morphological characters. Analyses using non gap-weighted morphological data yielded results compatible with each other and some published classifications, while gap-weighted parsimony analysis did not.
