Oxygenation of a Crystalloid Cardioplegic Solution

open access: yesThe Journal of ExtraCorporeal Technology, 1986
The purpose of this study is to compare the effectiveness of an alternative method of oxygenating a crystalloid cardioplegic solution to the use of a bubble oxygenator. Five hundred milliliters of 100% oxygen was introduced, using sterile technique, into 100 ml bags of Ringer's solution at varying temperatures (20°, 10°, and 4°C).

Metabolismo miocárdico após cardioplegia sangüínea hipotérmica retrógrada contínua com indução anterógrada normotérmica Myocardial metabolism after hypothermic retrograde continuous blood cardioplegia with anterograde warm cardioplegic induction

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Cardiovascular Surgery, 2005
OBJETIVO: Determinar as alterações sofridas pelo miocárdio durante a cardioplegia sangüínea hipotérmica retrógrada contínua com a adição da indução cardioplégica anterógrada normotérmica.

Effects of cardioplegic solutions on conductive coronary arteries

open access: yesThe Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, 1982
The effects of two cardioplegic solutions (CPSs) on isolated, superfused, bovine coronary arteries were compared with those produced by changes in composition of standard Krebs medium. High potassium, low sodium content or the addition of albumin produced vasoconstriction; high magnesium, high glucose content or the addition of mannitol led to ...

Solução cardioplégica sangüínea versus acelular: avaliação hemodinâmica através de estudo experimental em cães Hemodynamic evaluation of myocardial protection by blood and acellular cardioplegic solutions: an experimental study

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Cardiovascular Surgery, 1990
Estudo experimental em 20 cães permitiu avaliar hemodinamicamente o grau de proteção miocárdica à anóxia, através do emprego de solução cardioplégica sangüínea e acelular.

Identification of the functional binding pocket for compounds targeting small-conductance Ca²⁺-activated potassium channels. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Small- and intermediate-conductance Ca(2+)-activated potassium channels, activated by Ca(2+)-bound calmodulin, have an important role in regulating membrane excitability. These channels are also linked to clinical abnormalities.
