Simulation‐Driven Optimization of a Borosilicate/Al/Al2O3/Graphene Multilayer SPR Sensor for Aqueous Detection of Metal Ions and Their Binary Mixtures

open access: yesElectron, EarlyView.
A cost‐effective surface plasmon resonance sensor using a borosilicate prism, 60 nm aluminum, an optimized 8–10 nm Al2O3 spacer, and graphene oxide achieves up to 338(°)/RIU sensitivity with narrow linewidth, enabling reliable detection and discrimination of Hg(II), Pb(II), Zn(II), and their binary mixtures in water.

A guide to neuromodulation in drug‐resistant epilepsy

open access: yesEpileptic Disorders, EarlyView.
Abstract Neuromodulation is approved for the treatment of drug‐resistant epilepsy. It has been increasingly utilized over the past two decades with the approval of deep brain stimulation (DBS) and responsive neurostimulation (RNS) in addition to vagus nerve stimulation (VNS)—particularly in patients who are not deemed to be good resective surgical ...

Localizing value of cutaneous ictal phenomena: A systematic review

open access: yesEpileptic Disorders, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective Clinical observation of autonomic signs during seizures can aid in localizing the epileptogenic zone (EZ). We performed a systematic review and meta‐analysis to evaluate the localizing value of ictal cutaneous phenomena—piloerection, sweating, pallor, and flushing—in focal epilepsy and their relevance to presurgical evaluation ...

WONOEP appraisal: Biomarkers and treatment strategies beyond the synapse

open access: yesEpilepsia, EarlyView.
Abstract Epilepsy is a heterogeneous neurological disorder affecting more than 70 million people worldwide, posing significant challenges for clinicians due to its complex etiology, diverse manifestations, variable treatment responses, and the inability to predict seizures or disease onset reliably.
