A combined optical coherence tomography angiography and fluorescence imaging approach assesses tumor angiogenesis and drug effects in a novel zebrafish cancer model. By analyzing 3D vasculature data, the two imaging methods complement each other to quantify blood flow, vessel structure, and drug efficacy.

Pischiutta F and coworkers identify prostaglandins and kynurenine as key mediators of the mesenchymal stromal cells‐derived secretome's neuroprotective effects. A synthetic cocktail composed of these factors promotes long‐term functional recovery, reduces brain structural damage, and modulates neuroinflammation after traumatic brain injury, supporting ...

Engineered Foxp1high Exosomes Ameliorates Systemic Lupus Erythematosus
This study presents a dual‐engineering strategy combining mesenchymal stem cell aggregation and Foxp1 overexpression to generate Foxp1high aggregation exosomes with enhanced immunomodulatory properties. These engineered exosomes exhibit immune organ targeting and superior efficacy in systemic lupus erythematosus treatment by promoting Treg ...

This study designs an injectable porous hydrogel (HMs/MBs/ADSCs) integrating hollow microspheres for sustained BMP‐2 release to enhance adipose‐derived stem cells' paracrine effect. It accelerates tendon‐bone healing in rat rotator cuff injuries via spatiotemporal regulation: early AMPK‐mediated mitochondrial protection and late TGF‐β/Smad2/3‐driven ...

Trimetazidine in cardiovascular medicine
International Journal of Cardiology, 2019Abnormalities of myocardial energy metabolism appear as a common background of the two major cardiac disorders: ischemic heart disease (IHD) and heart failure (HF). Myocardial ischemia has been recently conceived as a multifaceted syndrome that can be precipitated by a number of mechanisms including metabolic abnormalities. HF is a progressive disorder

Rapamycin in cardiovascular medicine
Internal Medicine Journal, 2003Abstract The cellular action of rapamycin (sirolimus), a natural fermentation product produced by Streptomyces hygroscopicus, is mediated by binding to the FK506 binding protein. By inhibiting a kinase known as the target of rapamycin, it restricts the proliferation of smooth‐muscle cells by blocking cell‐cycle progression at the G1/S transition. The ...
