Falls Prediction in eldery people using Gated Recurrent Units [PDF]
Falls prevention, especially in older people, becomes an increasingly important topic in the times of aging societies. In this work, we present Gated Recurrent Unit-based neural networks models designed for predicting falls (syncope). The cardiovascular systems signals used in the study come from Gravitational Physiology, Aging and Medicine Research ...

Integrating Deep Learning with Fundus and Optical Coherence Tomography for Cardiovascular Disease Prediction [PDF]
Early identification of patients at risk of cardiovascular diseases (CVD) is crucial for effective preventive care, reducing healthcare burden, and improving patients' quality of life. This study demonstrates the potential of retinal optical coherence tomography (OCT) imaging combined with fundus photographs for identifying future adverse cardiac ...

Hypoxia promotes the epithelial‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) of renal tubular epithelial cells via the SIRT1‐FoxO1‐FoxO3‐autophagy pathway, thereby resulting in the fibrosis of renal tubular epithelial cells. Activation of SIRT1 or induction of autophagy inhibits this process, alleviating hypoxia‐induced fibrosis.
