Reversal of Stress‐Induced PIEZO1 Elevation with Mechanically Adapted Epicardial Patch for Myocardial Infarction Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work identifies fine‐tuning the expression of PIEZO1 as a critical molecular mechanism underlying the treatment of myocardial infarction by mechanically adapted cardiac patches, which can support the clinical translation of cardiac patch devices.

A Dual‐Modal Wearable Pulse Detection System Integrated with Deep Learning for High‐Accuracy and Low‐Power Sleep Apnea Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A dual‐modal wearable pulse detection system is developed for sleep apnea monitoring by integrating a self‐powered PENG and PPG sensor with a biomimetic fingertip structure. Through a two‐stage detection strategy, continuous PPW monitoring and on‐demand PPG detection achieve high‐accuracy sleep apnea recognition while maintaining low power consumption.

Platelet–Eosinophil Interactions As a Potential Therapeutic Target in Allergic Inflammation and Asthma

open access: yesFrontiers in Medicine, 2017
The importance of platelet activation during hemostasis is well understood. An understanding of these mechanisms has led to the use of several classes of anti-platelet drugs to inhibit aggregation for the prevention of thrombi during cardiovascular ...

A Dataset and Toolkit for Multiparameter Cardiovascular Physiology Sensing on Rings [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Smart rings offer a convenient way to continuously and unobtrusively monitor cardiovascular physiological signals. However, a gap remains between the ring hardware and reliable methods for estimating cardiovascular parameters, partly due to the lack of publicly available datasets and standardized analysis tools.

Falls Prediction in eldery people using Gated Recurrent Units [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
Falls prevention, especially in older people, becomes an increasingly important topic in the times of aging societies. In this work, we present Gated Recurrent Unit-based neural networks models designed for predicting falls (syncope). The cardiovascular systems signals used in the study come from Gravitational Physiology, Aging and Medicine Research ...

Nephronectin (NPNT) is a Crucial Determinant of Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis: Modulating Cellular Senescence via the ITGA3/YAP1 Signaling Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Through a comprehensive multi‐omics analysis, this study identifies a marked reduction in Nephronectin (NPNT) expression within fibrotic lung tissue. This reduction impairs the binding capability to the ITGA3 receptor, consequently causing YAP1 to persist in the cytoplasm, where it undergoes degradation.

Eye2Heart : a validated lumped-parameter model bridging cardiovascular and ocular dynamics [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
The cardiovascular and ocular systems are intricately connected, with hemodynamic interactions playing a crucial role in both physiological regulation and pathological conditions. However, existing models often treat these systems separately, limiting the understanding of their interdependence.

A Touch Enabled Hemodynamic and Metabolic Monitor

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work presents a touch‐based hybrid platform for simultaneous monitoring of vital signs and sweat metabolites. With a simple tri‐finger touch of 4–6 min, users can concurrently get to know their glucose, uric acid, cortisol levels from fingertip sweat, along with blood pressure and heart rate.
