Transcriptome analysis of an oil-rich race B strain of Botryococcus braunii (BOT-22) by de novo assembly of pyrosequencing cDNA reads [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
To gain genetic insights into the biosynthesis of botryococcene oils in Botryococcus braunii race B, a transcriptome dataset of the BOT-22 strain containing 27,427 non-redundant sequences assembled from 209,429 complementary DNA reads was obtained via ...

Higher Cardol Homologues (5-Alkenylresorcinols) from Rye Affect the Red Cell Membrane-Water Transport

open access: yesZeitschrift für Naturforschung C, 1985
The influence of 5-heptadecenylresorcinol and total rye 5-alkenylresorcinols isolated from rye grains on the red blood cell water permeability was studied using osmotic shrinkage experiments performed in 300 mᴍ sucrose. The studied compounds induced significant increase of erythrocyte water permeability.

Comparison between physico-chemical properties of the technical Cashew Nut Shell Liquid (CNSL) and those natural extracted from solvent and pressing

open access: yesPolímeros, 2011
Cashew nut shell liquid (CNSL) is a by-product of the cashew kernel industry, applied mainly to produce polymeric derivatives. The technical CNSL (CNSLT) was obtained industrially, extracted by roasting the cashew nut shells at temperatures between 180 ...

Integrated Regulatory and Metabolic Networks of the Marine Diatom Phaeodactylum tricornutum Predict the Response to Rising CO2 Levels. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Diatoms are eukaryotic microalgae that are responsible for up to 40% of the ocean's primary productivity. How diatoms respond to environmental perturbations such as elevated carbon concentrations in the atmosphere is currently poorly understood.

Studies on Nigerian cashew nut shell liquid: Greening-up extraction process, chemical composition and cost effectiveness

open access: yesSustainable Chemistry for the Environment
Extractions of cashew nut shell liquid (CNSL) have always widely been carried out with non-environmentally friendly solvents. Hence, greener solvents are desired as alternative to currently used solvents.
