The first report of deep-sea litter in the South-Western Caribbean Sea.
Marine Pollution Bulletin, 2020Marine litter is a world-wide problem, but the knowledge on this topic in remote areas such as the poles and the deep-sea is still limited. This paper seeks to provide the first accounts of deep-sea litter in the South-Western Caribbean Sea.

Mechanism study of the 2010–2016 rapid rise of the Caribbean Sea Level
, 2020The Caribbean Sea level increased rapidly by about 6.55 cm in the period 2010–2016. This dramatic rise occurred concurrently with a step change in basin mass (freshwater equivalent) of about 1.09 cm (relative to 2006–2009) and an increase in surface ...

Pleistocene Sediments of the Caribbean Sea
Geochemistry International, 2021The lithological-facies zoning of the Neo- and Eopleistocene sediments of the Caribbean Sea has been described for the first time based on deep-sea drilling data. Сorresponding maps and isopach schemes were processed using A.B. Ronov’s volumetric method to calculate the quantitative parameters of sedimentation for the distinguished types of Pleistocene

Seasonal and interannual variability of the mixed layer heat budget in the Caribbean Sea
Journal of Marine Systems, 2018The long-term mean annual cycle and interannual variability of the mixed layer heat budget in the Caribbean Sea are quantified by using high resolution oceanic and atmospheric reanalysis products (the GLobal Ocean ReanalYsis and Simulations, GLORYS2V4 ...

Caribbean Sea Region Pyrrhocoroidea (Hemiptera: Pyrrhocoridae, Largidae)
Neotropical Entomology, 2013A synopsis of the Pyrrhocoridae and Largidae (Pyrrhocoroidea) of the Caribbean Sea Region is given. Three new taxa are described: Dysdercus jamaicensis jindrai Stehlík n. subsp. (Dominican Republic); Largus fumosus fumosus Stehlík n. sp. (Panama-Barro Colorado Island); and Largus fumosus nigromembranaceus Stehlík n. subsp. (Panama).

Sea‐level trends and interannual variability in the Caribbean Sea
Journal of Geophysical Research: Oceans, 2013Sea‐level trends and their forcing have been investigated in the Caribbean Sea using altimetry and tide gauge time series from 19 stations. The basin average sea‐level rise is 1.7 ± 1.3 mm yr−1 for the period 1993–2010. Significant spatial variability of the trends is found.

Deep-sea fish assemblages in the Colombian Caribbean Sea
Fisheries Research, 2012Studies of the species composition, relative abundance and biomass of deep-sea assemblages are needed to create a knowledge base for the assessment of the resource potential and to advise ecosystem-based conservation and fisheries management strategies. This study attempts to create an initial knowledge base of the system by assessing the deep-sea fish
