Pharmacometric‐Based Evaluation of Salmeterol and Its Metabolite α‐Hydroxysalmeterol in Plasma and Urine: Practical Implications for Doping Control

open access: yesCPT: Pharmacometrics &Systems Pharmacology, Volume 15, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Salmeterol is a commonly used β2‐agonist included on the List of Prohibited Substances and Methods published by the World Anti‐Doping Agency (WADA). We developed a population pharmacokinetic (popPK) model to describe the PK of salmeterol including its major metabolite, α‐hydroxysalmeterol, in plasma and urine after inhalation.

Strain Effects in a Directly Bonded Diamond‐on‐Insulator Substrate

open access: yesphysica status solidi (a), Volume 223, Issue 3, February 2026.
Strain effects in a directly bonded diamond‐on‐insulator substrate are investigated using NV‐based optically detected magnetic resonance and photoluminescence mapping. Enhanced volumetric and shear strain is observed near the bonded interface, but without significant degradation of NV optical properties.

Importance and spatial patterns of invisible fisheries in Amazonian clear‐water rivers as revealed by fisher knowledge and collaboration

open access: yesConservation Biology, Volume 40, Issue 1, February 2026.
The graphical abstract highlights the research collaboration with fishers through interviews to record fishers' knowledge and participatory monitoring, to provide data on small‐scale fisheries in three clear water rivers (Trombetas, Tapajos and Tocantins).

Beam quality assessment: Evaluating aluminum purity's effects

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, Volume 27, Issue 1, January 2026.
Abstract Purpose This study evaluates the effect of aluminum (Al) purity on Half Value Layer (HVL) measurements and beam quality across mobile and fixed radiographic units. Beam quality assessment is a fundamental aspect in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of ionizing radiation to patients.
