Scat DNA Applications for Low‐Density Carnivore Survey: Techniques, Efficiency and Future Directions

open access: yesMammal Review, Volume 56, Issue 1, March 2026.
We reviewed 338 studies encompassing mostly Felidae, Canidae and Mustelidae species throughout the world, confirming scat DNA as a reliable genetic source for many applications. The findings here offer guidance for future studies on low‐density carnivores, helping to design cost‐effective research and improving data quality for conservation efforts ...

Edge effect influences the ecological strategies of plant communities in tropical forest fragments

open access: yesPlant Biology, Volume 28, Issue 2, Page 509-519, March 2026.
The edge effect in Eastern Amazonia influences ecological strategies of plant communities, with forest edges promoting traits linked to hydraulic efficiency, while interior species exhibiting diverse ecological strategies. Abstract The continuous fragmentation of tropical forests is a major threat to biodiversity and ecosystem functioning. This process

Improved Thermal and Structural Performance of LDPE Reinforced With Bamboo Cellulose Nanocrystals via PE‐g‐MA Compatibilization

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, Volume 143, Issue 6, February 10, 2026.
Bamboo‐derived cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) with polyethylene‐graft‐maleic anhydride (PE‐g‐MA) boost structural ordering and thermal stability in green low‐density green polyethylene (LDPE) composites. ABSTRACT This study investigates low‐density green polyethylene (LDPE) nanocomposites reinforced with bamboo‐derived cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) and ...

Fabrication of Multifunctional FeSi Gyroid Lattice Composites via Additive Manufacturing and Polymer Infiltration

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 28, Issue 3, 4 February 2026.
A two‐step approach combining laser powder bed fusion of FeSi electrical steel with Bakelite infiltration enables the fabrication of multifunctional gyroid lattice composites. The resulting structures exhibit high strength, magnetic anisotropy, and complete polymer infiltration, demonstrating a simple and scalable route toward lightweight, mechanically

“El poeta, el cartógrafo: el paisaje poético de Carlos de Oliveira”,

open access: yes, 2019
Between the books Micropaisagem (1969) and Entre Duas Memórias (1971), Carlos de Oliveira's poetry is shaped as the space for experimentation of a poetics, his own, in which the countryside, the rural environment and, by extension, the landscape had already constituted the referential motif par excellence of his previous narrative work.

HSP70 governs permeability and mechanotransduction in primary human endothelial cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, Volume 16, Issue 2, Page 382-396, February 2026.
HSP70 chemical inhibition reduces endothelial cell proliferation and increases permeability, the latter supported by normal interendothelial junctional protein distribution. HSP70 also plays a role in shear stress response, a hemodynamic force naturally present in blood vessels and correlated with vessel protection.
