The History and Perspectives of Efficiency at Maximum Power of the Carnot Engine
Finite Time Thermodynamics is generally associated with the Curzon–Ahlborn approach to the Carnot cycle. Recently, previous publications on the subject were discovered, which prove that the history of Finite Time Thermodynamics started more than sixty ...

Reversible Carnot and Philips heat engines with a real gas as a working body
In the article, on the basis of the theory of thermodynamic potentials, a study was made of the quasistatic Phillips and Carnot heat engines in which a comparative analysis was made of their work both for cycles with a working body, an ideal gas, and for

Carnot's Cycle and Efficiency of Heat Engines [PDF]
ON p. 326 of NATURE for August 29 appears an abstract of a paper by Dr. J. S. Haldane, which he read before the Institution of Mining Engineers on June 16. In this paper he has “thrown to the winds” the usual academic teaching in regard to the efficiency of a Carnot cycle, and has put forward a claim that another cycle has a greater efficiency.
