Conformality and Q-harmonicity in Carnot groups
We show that if f is a 1-quasiconformal map defined on an open subset of a Carnot group G, then composition with f preserves Q-harmonic functions. We combine this with a regularity theorem for Q-harmonic functions and an algebraic regularity theorem for maps between Carnot groups to show that f is smooth.

Where Mathematical Symbols Come From
Abstract There is a sense in which the symbols used in mathematical expressions and formulas are arbitrary. After all, arithmetic would be no different if we would replace the symbols ‘+$+$’ or ‘8’ by different symbols. Nevertheless, the shape of many mathematical symbols is in fact well motivated in practice.

Curvature‐dimension condition of sub‐Riemannian α$\alpha$‐Grushin half‐spaces
Abstract We provide new examples of sub‐Riemannian manifolds with boundary equipped with a smooth measure that satisfy the RCD(K,N)$\mathsf {RCD}(K, N)$ condition. They are constructed by equipping the half‐plane, the hemisphere and the hyperbolic half‐plane with a two‐dimensional almost‐Riemannian structure and a measure that vanishes on their ...

Some Results on Maps That Factor through a Tree
We give a necessary and sufficient condition for a map deffned on a simply-connected quasi-convex metric space to factor through a tree. In case the target is the Euclidean plane and the map is Hölder continuous with exponent bigger than 1/2, such maps ...

Distinct Outflow Dynamics and Cloud Properties in Rapidly Intensifying Tropical Cyclones
Abstract The role of upper‐level outflow in tropical cyclone (TC) rapid intensification (RI) remains poorly quantified compared to thermodynamic drivers. Combining high‐resolution satellite observations and statistical modeling, this study reveals distinct outflow dynamics and cloud properties differentiating RI from slow‐intensifying (SI‐1/SI‐2) TCs ...

Multicomponent Synthesis of Fluorine‐Containing Bioactive Compounds and Drugs
Multicomponent reactions are robust synthetic tools to assamble complex polyheterocycles and other interesting molecular architectures with potential application in medicinal chemistry, including their fluorine‐containing analogues. Fluorine atoms placed strategically into bioactive molecules often enhance essential pharmacokinetic parameters like ...

The ring expansion of α‐cyclopropyl diazoacetates into cyclobutenoates upon irradiation at 425 nm was reported in moderate to excellent yields (17% to 75%) and moderate to good regioisomeric ratio (55:45 to 82:18). The formation of two regioisomers was explained using DFT calculations as well as the involvement of a singlet state carbene.
