Veteran grave inscriptions from the 1st half of the 1st century AD in Carnuntum all feature the Italic tribus and rounded ages. From 63 AD on, the tribus Claudia is named for the veterans’ colony Savaria. From 70 AD, new recruiting locations are mentioned, but all veterans give their age in rounded numbers.
