Dissection of the Common Carotid Artery [PDF]
Journal of Diagnostic Medical Sonography, 2000 Dissection of the aorta is a common catastrophic event affecting the aorta. However, aortic dissections do not normally extend into the common carotid arteries. This case study discusses such an occurrence and the role of sonography in its detection and diagnosis.
