Xixin Decoction May Treat Vascular Dementia by Modulating the NPTX2/C1q/C3 Complement Pathway
To establish a VaD model, SD rats underwent unilateral common carotid artery ligation, followed by gavage treatment with Xixin decoction. Cognitive abilities of the rats were assessed through Morris water maze and new object recognition. Pathological changes were observed using electron microscopy observation, Golgi staining, and Nissl staining ...

Low‐field MRI: Clinical promise and challenges
Modern MRI scanners have trended toward higher field strengths to maximize signal and resolution while minimizing scan time. However, high‐field devices remain expensive to install and operate, making them scarce outside of high‐income countries and major population centers.

Pencil‐beam scanning proton therapy for the treatment of glomus jugulare tumours
The rare locally destructive glomus jugulare tumours could be treated using pencil‐beam scanning proton therapy (an alternative to surgery). Proton therapy provides good local control and acceptable toxicity. This paper reports treatment outcomes, acute and early late toxicities of 12 patients with glomus jugulare tumours.

An in silico approach to analyse the influence of carotid haemodynamics on cardiovascular events using 3D tomographic ultrasound and computational fluid dynamics [PDF]
Analysing the haemodynamics of flow in carotid artery disease serves as a means to better understand the development and progression of associated complex diseases. Carotid artery disease can predispose people to major adverse cardiovascular events.
