Optimal Treatment of Carotid Artery Disease
Journal of the American College of Cardiology, 2008 Extracranial carotid artery disease accounts for approximately 25% of ischemic strokes. Although carotid endarterectomy (CEA) is the established gold standard for carotid revascularization, carotid artery angioplasty and stenting (CAS) is continually developing into a safer and more efficacious method of stroke prevention. Advanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView. This study introduces a hydraulically steerable catheter with a soft tip in vascular procedures. The steering soft tip achieves a minimal diameter of 2.6 mm and supports a 180° bend. Real‐time shape and position tracking, facilitated by segmentation and endpoint detection techniques, improves navigation.Jingyi Kang, Ye Wang, Jiayuan Liu, Zhuhao Wang, Xuan Yang, Jie Wang, Jian Wu, Guochen Ning, Boyu Zhang, Hongen Liao +9 morewiley +1 more sourceAdverse Cardiovascular Risk Profile and Increased Diurnal Salivary Cortisol in Girls With Turner Syndrome: An Exploratory Study
American Journal of Medical Genetics Part C: Seminars in Medical Genetics, EarlyView.ABSTRACT
Patients with Turner Syndrome (TS) and those exposed to high concentrations of glucocorticoids have a number of characteristics in common, including an increased risk of cardiovascular disease. Pediatric TS patients underwent studies of salivary cortisol (SC) and cortisone (SCn), body composition, continuous glucose monitoring, vascular ...Lily Jones, Julie Park, Silothabo Dliso, Daniel B. Turner syndrome (TS) is frequently complicated by congenital heart disease (CHD). While left‐sided lesions such as bicuspid aortic valve (BAV) and coarctation of the aorta are the most common structural heart lesions in TS, other anomalies, such as aortic arch malformations, hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS), persistent left superior vena Katya de Groote, Sheetal R. Hepatology Communications, EarlyView., 2022 Abstract
Cardiovascular disease is a leading complication after both liver and kidney transplantation. Factors associated with and rates of cardiovascular events (CVEs) after simultaneous liver–kidney transplant (SLKT) are unknown. This was a retrospective cohort study of adult SLKT recipients between 2002 and 2017 at six centers in six United Network ...Jennifer Jo, Gonzalo Crespo, Dyanna Gregory, Jasmine Sinha, Jiaheng Xie, Min Zhang, John Magee, Pranab Barman, Yuval A. Animal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.Neutrophil‐to‐lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and monocyte‐to‐lymphocyte ratio (MLR) were investigated as potential markers. A total of 3545 subjects were included in the analysis retrospectively. Adult men and women with impaired glucose metabolism were assessed. NLR and MLR may help assess inflammation in individuals with impaired glucose metabolism. Abstract Ayed A. Dera, Abeer Abdullah Alghamdi, Mesfer Al‐Shahrani, Reem M.
