Knowledge of the remarkable mechanical force sensing and electrically transducing PIEZO1 and PIEZO2 channels is discussed across vascular biology and its cell types from the embryonic to adult stages in health, disease and old age. How the channels work, relate to other factors and signal for tissue responses to mechanical forces is debated.

A 10‐convolutional neural network ensemble using transfer learning and layer freezing analyzes 400 Doppler‐ultrasound spectrograms to distinguish speckle, artifact, and ESs. Soft and hard voting drive performance to 96.7% accuracy and 96.5% F1, highlighting a practical route for early embolus detection and stroke‐risk mitigation.

Hypertriglyceridemia and Atherosclerotic Carotid Artery Stenosis
Both fasting and non-fasting hypertriglyceridemia have emerged as residual risk factors for atherosclerotic disease. However, it is unclear whether hypertriglyceridemia increases the risks of the progression of carotid artery stenosis. Statins are well known to prevent carotid plaque progression and improve carotid plaque instability.
